This beautifully written Bible in Indonesian was created by a committee composed of experts from the Netherlands, Switzerland and Indonesia (from the tribe of Tapanuli, Java, Minahasa, and Timor). Terjemahan Baru was translated directly from the original languages, the Hebrew version of Biblia Hebraica for the Old Testament, and Greek versions for the New Testament.
The translation project was completed in 1970. The New Testament was published in 1971 and the entire Old Testament in 1974.
