The Colchester App showcases the best of Colchester, telling you ‘what’s on’, ‘where to go’ and ‘how to get there’ from wherever you are in the town.The app provides a list of local events consolidated from a variety of sources, so if it’s on-line, you’ll find it here. The choice of places to go caters for all tastes and interests and ranges from daytime to night-time, from outdoors to indoors and from cultural to retail.
An interactive map gives you fast walking navigation to all central town locations, including accessible paths to each. The ‘more information’ tab for each cultural venue presents opening times, contact information, media and a brief description of each cultural location as well as accessibility information where available. Once you find an event you'd like to attend the app gives you the option to save the event into your calendar and provide you with a reminder so you don't miss out and it lets you share items of interest with others.
In the next few months, we will be fine-tuning the system so please let us know of any issues you spot or send us suggestions from within the app as this is the first of many versions of this platform.
