Med den här appen kan du delta i medborgarforskningsprojektet ”Fågelbär” genom att rapportera observationer av fåglar som äter. Forskningsprojektet drivs av forskare på institutionen för Ekologi, Miljö och Botanik vid Stockholms universitet. Om vi får in många observationer kan vi få en bild av vilka fåglar som äter vilka frukter, och hur detta nätverk av fågelarter och växtarter varierar geografiskt och över tid. Informationen vi får från Fågelbär blir en värdefull pusselbit för att öka kunskapen om djurspridning av växternas frön. All denna kunskap är intressant och värdefull för att förstå konsekvenserna av landskapsförändringar och av ett varmare klimat.Du kan även välja att stå en stund och observera en växtart med bär, och rapportera det oavsett om du ser några fåglar eller inte. Observationer av bär utan fåglar är också viktiga eftersom de bidrar till våra kunskaper om vilka bär som föredras vid olika tider på året. Även fåglar som egentligen inte bidrar till fröspridning, utan äter själva fröna (t.ex. domherre) är viktiga att rapportera.
