▣ What can be transferred?
- Contacts, calendar(Device content only), messages, photos, music (DRM free content only, Not supported for iCloud), videos (DRM free content only), call logs, memos, alarms, Wi-Fi, wallpapers, documents, app data (Galaxy devices only), home layouts (Galaxy devices only)
- You can send app data and home layouts by upgrading your Galaxy device to M OS (Galaxy S6 or higher).
▣ Which devices are supported?
• Galaxy: Recent Galaxy mobile devices and tablets (From Galaxy S2)
• Other Android devices:
- HTC, LG, Sony, Huawei, Lenovo, Motorola, PANTECH, Panasonic, Kyocera, NEC, SHARP, Fujitsu, Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, Coolpad(DazenF2), RIM(Priv), YotaPhone, ZTE(Nubia Z9), Gionee, LAVA, MyPhone(My28s), Cherry Mobile, Google(Pixel/Pixel2)
* For reasons such as compatibility between devices, it may not be possible to install and use Smart Switch on certain devices.
1. To transfer data, both devices must have a minimum of 500 MB free space in their internal memory.
2. If you are using a wired connection, your device must support a 'Transferring media files (MTP)' USB option to allow content to be transferred.
3. If you have a non-Samsung device that constantly disconnects from the wireless network, go to Advanced Wi-Fi on your device, turn off the “Wi-Fi initialize” and “Disconnect low Wi-Fi signal” options, and try again.
(The options described above may not be available, depending on your device manufacturer and OS version.)
The following permissions are required for the app service. For optional permissions, the default functionality of the service is turned on, but not allowed.

. Nearby devices: Used to search for nearby devices using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (Android 12 or higher)
. Location: Used to connect to devices using Wi-Fi Direct, which makes your location available to nearby devices (Android 12 or lower)
. Notifications: Used to provide information about the progress of data transfers (Android 13 or higher)

If your system software version is lower than Android 6.0, please update the software to configure App permissions.

1 ★I needed this ONE TIME. once installed, you cannot uninstall it. It takes up space and is useless and cannot be gotten rid of. CAN NOT UNINSTALL. (PERIOD. NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. NO OPTION TO UNINSTALL. WILL NOT ALLOW UNINSTALL. How can I make it plainer?)
2 ★its good for when I can't find the remote but its really annoying every other minute its on my phone. it constantly sends alerts to my TV or soundbar or idk what its doing trying to cast but its annoying. it took me months to figure out it was the app making the nonstop alert sounds. I thought the soundbar was bad. get off my phone.
1 ★My wife has an s10+ from Verizon and the software crashed the phone so Verizon sent another phone but since phone only worked from safe mode I wasn't able to use safe switch in safe mode so it became pointless to have it. Safe mode wouldn't allow safe switch to run so lost all pics because phone requires safe switch to transfer pics
1 ★Best Buy store downloaded the smart switch app on to my old Galaxy S4 Android version 5.0.1 with not much free memory, but mostly empty SD card. They transferred the information to my new unlocked Galaxy S20 FE 5G with smart switch. All my S Memos ,and all my Polaris Office 5 files, except for downloads, are gone. Samsung help site expert says they are permanently gone, even though app description claims app does not delete files. Many of the files were not backed up.
2 ★Mixed bag, dealing with SMS is a bummer. In my old phone I used to lock essential or memorable texts. Than I could delete all not locked messages easily, and I did so frequently. This app copied all to my new Samsung, but the lock flag is missing. I have no clue how to restore them without long manual work with the old phone.
2 ★This app used to be super fast at transfering data from an old device to new Samsung phone. But now it's super slooooow. It takes 4 hours to transfer only 10gbs of data. My customers think that I doing something wrong. Whether it's wired or wireless, it won't work. Please fix this app fast.
1 ★Difficult to figure out. I just want to copy to my new tablet, not take hours to figure out an app, when. I can just connect things faster by hand. Was hoping for a fast alternative but maybe it has something to do with being and LG I'm trying to copy from.

1 ★The correct name for this app is "MORON SWITCH". The lamers at Samsung think that you'll only use this app to setup once. But I've had to use it several times to back up archives. Every time I've been put through hell deselecting what I do NOT want to send.
1 ★I am trying to send my info from a samsung J3, but the program on this phone S20 it ask only to tranfer to another device. Never ask or lets me transfer to this device. Never gives me an opption... Both phones are Samsung the new one is the S21. It say it will transfer out but not receive from the other Samsung phone.
