5 ★Great for an easy travel solution abroad. eSIM are so much easier to manage than switching physical SIMs. Edit 2024: I still use it up to this day and it works great everywhere I tried (though sometimes local providers have a better network coverage in remote areas... But no e-sim prepaid option): I tried in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, China as of 2024.
5 ★I was a bit hesitant to buy an eSim from a company I did not know much about. I used it on an Android Samsung S21 and it was an easy and excellent experience at a very reasonable price. I liked the fact that I did not have to manually change the APN, all automatic. The quality of service in Taiwan was great. I also used it in Vietnam and the card worked immediately upon my arrival over there. The app shows how much data you have left. I would definitely use Airalo again!
5 ★In most cases, it's super simple to use. Just instal the esim and use it like any ordinary sim card. If and when you have to do more then just instal, clear, step by step instructions are given. Service coverage so far have been decent. An improvement that I'd appreciate is the removal of the esim expiry. Or a standard 30 days. I'd imagine everyone buying a sim would base the charges on the amount of data. Not the length of use.
1 ★Unfortunately Airalo started to play unclean games to me. I installed it about a year ago and in the begining all was flawless. But a couple of months ago the activation button on the purchased esim or topup disapeared with claim that the activation is automatic. Well, I lost 3-4 purchased (when they get money it is flawless) new esims and topups wich don't work and there is no way manually to activate them. So I switched to other similar provider that don't have so far such issues. Good luck!
5 ★I'm using Airalo in Brazil. It works as expected. Two points to note. The installation process requires a second device to take the picture of a QR code so you can use the automatic install. The manual process requires copying and pasting a string.. I got my iPad to take the picture and activated it on my phone. The second point.. it uses Chilean phone provider so don't be surprised to get a weird call from Chile. My girlfriend is traveling in Cuba and she was not able to install it over there..
5 ★Currently traveling in Vietnam. I had purchased an e-sim from a different provider and spent two days with their chat trying to make it work. Finally gave up on them and purchased the Airalo e-sim. It was working perfectly within 5 minutes and has worked everywhere I have been. It is a must for travel these days. Bookings, navigation, research, communications, translations, etc. Everything is online. Phone service would be mostly useless locally with language issues. Highly recommend.
3 ★I want to give 5 stars, but Airalo has left me stranded a few times. The app does not warn you before running out of data, at which point the app is unresponsive and will not open for top up. Need a "top up now before you run out of data" warning. I couldn't even open the app to see whether I'd run out of data. It's frustrating when trying to navigate home at the end of a long trip.
5 ★Hassle free, easy to use, quick and easy alternative to keep you online and in touch with family and friends when you're out of the country and your SIM card just doesn't cut it. Airalo is an awesome much needed service for world travellers. My only gripe is that it's data only. But saying that, it did exactly what I needed - from email to WhatsApp, from Google maps to full-on Waze sat nav, the smart phone is essential to modern travel. Airalo made my holiday to the USA whole, simple as that.
3 ★It is decent enough for basic use, but for being the lead traveller in a group you need better internet to sort things out. I couldn't get access to Uber at all in Egypt until they reset something after 2 days, but even then. LTE is the best signal you can get which isn't great, as I've been losing signal a lot in Tanzania. Whereas my mates on their UK SIM roaming are using as if it was back home.
4 ★Positive experience overall, bought esim package for caribbean islands for both my self and my wife. Easy to download and kicked in nicely on arrival at the first island. Coverage was pretty good for all islands visited for Google maps and what's app, email, and social media. No issues. Would have liked coverage for St Maarten, and two week option. Data 1gb just about covered our requirements as well as free WiFi in ports. Would use again and recommend as a useful back up.
1 ★This is a horrible eSIM app/ service. Some issues I encountered at different countries were...unable to locate network, unable to connect or lost connectivity after 1gb usage when I bought a 2gb package. I had been really patient with them, providing as much information/ screenshot as I can for the past few cases. I have also continued to use Airalo even encountering those problems. But they always couldn't resolve the issues and offered refund in Airmoney only.
1 ★Would give less than 1 star if I could. Airalo are absolute con artists. Sold me a package which after contacting them about, told me the service was down and they had no ETA on it being fixed. DO NOT SELL IT IF IT IS BROKEN, TAKE IT OFF YOUR LISTINGS?? I have had to fight for a refund and now they have (finally) credited me rather than cancelling the original payment transaction so, due to the currency exchange rate fluctuating, I have lost money. Fantastic.
