حول كتاب الدرة البيضاء ما ذكره مؤلفه:هذه رسالة مباركة سميتها «الدرة البيضاء»، جَمَعت -والحمد لله- لُباب أسرارِ الشريعة السمحاء، والطريقةِ الغراء، يُبهج بها الصالحون، ويُهْرَع لها طلابُ الحق المرضيُّون، ويصدُّ عنها المخذولون، وما هي إلا آية حق، مقتبسة من كتاب الله، وسنة رسول الله، عليه أتم وأعم صلوات الله، خلصَتْ نقيَّةً كاسمها، فاغتنِمْها أيها المحبُّ اللبيب، فإنها من لطائف النفحات النبوية، و من عوارف البركات المصطفوية، أمرني بكتابتها وإذاعتها -لمن يريد الله به الخير - حبيبي ﷺ، فهي منصوصة مخصوصة، جُمَلُها جميلة، وكلماتها جليلة، و بركاتها جزيلة، وسجلُّها كنزُ فضيلة، وها هي في مجالاها درة بيضاء، ويهدي الله لنوره من يشاء، والحمد لله وكفى، وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى.>

فيقول: العبد الفقير -في كل اﻷحوال- إلى الله محمد مهدي الملقب ببهاء الدين، والمنعوت في الحضرة بغريب الغرباء، والمكنى بأبي البراهين ابن علي آل خزام الصيادي الرفاعي الحسيني ثم الرديني . كان الله له ولوالديه وللمسلمين آمين . كنت سنةَ اثنتين وخمسين ومئتين وألف في مكة المكرمة، في بيت الله الحرام، وقد استقبلتُ القِبْلة واشتغلتُ بذكر الله تعالى.
فسمعتُ بلبلاُ يُبَرْقِمُ بلغةٍ كنتُ سمعتها في ديوان حضور، وعلَّمنيها رجل غيبيّ، بأمرٍ نبوي فلذلك فهمتُ ما بَرْقَمَ به البلبل، يخاطب رفيقاً له، فكتبتُ قولَه والجوابَ الذي رُدَّ له في هذه الصفحات المباركة القليلة، وسمَّيْتُ هذه الكلمات "برقمة البلبل" وإنها لمن أعجب العجائب، وأغرب الغرائب، يعرفُ سرَّها العارفون، وينتفع بها المحقِّقون، ويخشعُ لمضمونها الموفَّقون، واﻷمر بين الكاف والنون .
