فتحدث في الجزء الأول من الكتاب عن الخطوط العريضة للوجودية
الاعتقاد بالوجود قبل الماهية
وأن الإنسان ما هو إلا حصيلة عمله
عمل الشخص هو الذي يحدد ماهيته ووجوده
بل ويحدد وجود الآخرين أيضًا
وكذا اختياراته التي ستشكل وجوده ووجود من حوله
وضرب مثال الشاب الذي جاء يطلبه النصح في قضيته
هذا المثل الذي استعان به في كل سطر يكتبه
والذي المح نافيل إلى كثرة استعمال سارتر له
والحقيقة أنه ليس الشيء الوحيد الذي كان سارتر يقوم بتكراره
فهو على صغر مساحة حديثه لم ينفك يردد ثلاثة أشياء بمزيد من التكرار
1-الوجود قبل الماهية
2-العمل هو الوجود
3-الوجودية مذهب إنساني
وتلك الأخيرة صدقًا لم أفهمها، حاول شرحها لكني شعرت بالتيه
كان سارتر هنا رجل ضعيف الحجة، مضطرب
يبدأ حديثه بهكذا يهاجمون الوجودية، ويقول بعض ناقدي الوجودية إلخ
ربما كثرة الانتقادات حوله ومحاولته الرد عليها اقحمه في جو مشحون مضطرب
ساهم في غياب حجته
وهذا ما سيبدو ليّ صحته من خطأه
حين اقرأ أحد أعماله الأخرى
الجزء الثاني من الكتاب محاورة بينه وبين الماركسي نافيل
الأخير ينقد، وسارتر يرد
ورغم أن الماركسية أيضًا فلسفة بها ما بها من الأخطاء
ويوجه لها البعض الكثير والكثير من الانتقادات
ربما شعرت أن موقف نافيل وردوده أكثر قوة وإقناعًا من سارتر
مذهب فلسفي يقول بإن وجود الشخص أسبق من ماهيته ، فطبيعتك وشخصيتك تتكون أثناء حياتك ، ولا يمكنني أن أحكم عليك قبل أن تكون شخصيتك فأنت تدخل في مواقف كثيرة ، ولك في كل موقف موقف مختلف ! لذلك فأنت تتشكل كل يوم بفعل الخبرات التي تكتسبها في حياتك ، ولا يمكنني ان أحكم عليك لأن ذلك يقيد من حريتك . يعني إذا كان هناك أحد الأشخاص شرير أو ذا أخلاق سيئة ، وأنجب ولداً ، فلا يمكنني أن أتنبأ باخلاق هذا الولد قبل أن تتشكل ، ولا يمكنني أن أقول أنه بالتأكيد سيكون سيئاً مثل والده ! هذا ليس من حقي
