Arti surga sendiri ialah suatu tempat kediaman yang berada di alam akhirat yang tempat itu diliputi oleh berbagai kenikmatan dan kebahagiaan yang belum pernah seseorang hamba Allah swt. melihat, mendengar, dan menikmatinya saat hidup didunianya.
Dan ketahuilah bahwa surga dipersiapkan bagi hamba-Nya yang bertakwa semasa didunianya, begitu juga bagi hamba-Nya yang beriman dan senantiasa beramal shaleh. Merupakan balasan baginya buat selama-lamanya. Hal ini sesuai dengan firman Allah swt. dalam Al Qur'an, surat asy Syu'araa, ayat 90.
"Dan (pada hari itu) surga didekatkan kepada orang-orang yang bertakwa". Dan firman-Nya dalam surat Al Baqarah, aya 82.
"Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal shaleh, mereka itu penghuni surga, didalamnya mereka kekal". Dalam Al Qur'an pada lain surat tersebut di atas masih menjelaskan mengenai surga, dan bagi orang yang pantas menghuninya.
