How to participate in an event with Magic Companion:
1. Attend an event at participating local stores. Find one at locator.wizards.com
2. Open Magic Companion and select JOIN EVENT
3. Enter the Event Code provided by your local store.
4. Find your first matchup and get playing!

4 ★This is very cool that wizards finally made their own official app, only thing i would reccomend is keeping track of life points lost and gain to review in case there is ant discrepancies. Possibly a point system for playing in events fot cool little visual add ons would be neat as well. Either looking forward to seeing how this app is developed in the future.
4 ★Seems to work well so far, used it for a modern best of 3 night. Gives you the opponent and a table number, so there are no swarm of players looking at spreadsheets. You also input the match results and the opponent gets a notif to confirm. Why 4* : really wish they would add a timer everyone could see for the rounds, probably a timer with custom duration that the organizer could start, or something automatic once the pairings go out.
4 ★There is a bug that will not allow me to connect to the server when I am trying to get a tutorial starter deck but everything else is fine
4 ★Helpful app, would be great if there were ways to track and lable other counters aside from health and mana. Like when you have a creature that recieves several +1/+1 counters, or serveral creatures that do. Would be nice to freely add and remove however many extra counters needed
3 ★The ability to host and join events is neat, but needs to be fleshed out a bit more for LGS tie in (especially now that this could be the only way an LGS can "host" an event for a good while). This would get a 5 if it could check the gatherer at any time to look up rulings
5 ★Has all the things you will ever need to play a game or a tournament of magic, it's amazing
3 ★Considering it just came out, you cant expect much just yet. The lack of customization is kind of a bummer. It could be a lot better but it could also be worse. I personally play commander almost exclusively so for me EDHShieldmate is just better. Hopefully Wizards will update this soon.
5 ★The tracker works great! I love that it shows you how much you've changed a number while you're doing it - tiny detail that makes a lovely difference! Edit: they added the feature to keep the screen on while life tracking, thank you!
1 ★When hosting an event, I cannot put names in because when I click on the text box to do so, my keyboard comes up for half a second and then disappears. Now I have 5 events on my home page that I can't even get rid of because I can't technically "start" them.
1 ★The potential this app has for uploading card collections and analyzing decks and having an online marketplace and playing with friends AND hosting GLOBAL TOURNAMENTS is completely wasted. I expected significantly better. Not a single one of the current turn based competitive games currently available is as interesting and layered as the MTG Universe and I truly see this app as a huge wasted opportunity.
4 ★Life counter works and can track Mana pools and player counters. I haven't tested the tournament setup and pairing much yet but I believe it would be very nice to be able to set time limit as custom and have round robin and double elimination options as well as 2 headed giant.
3 ★When hosting an event in missing the option to easily cancel/remove it. And I would like to select the number of rounds manually. We regularly play 3 round with our group of 4 players, but the app ends after 2 rounds.
