1 ★Magic: The Gathering is a great game on it's own, but this app is basically unplayable for me for the last month or two, because it cannot reload from a momentary loss of wifi or cell signal. Even if I am only disconnected from the internet for literally less than a second, I have to force close the app and turn it back on. The game then takes about 45 seconds to put me back in the match, at which point I have missed something, and generally am now doomed to lose the game, or lose it outright.
2 ★The game play is good. The wait times for things to connect are ok. The worst thing about it is playing friends. My brother and I have been playing for decades but obviously don't always have the occasion to play in person. So this could have rectified that. The invites work, and that's about it. Of the dozens of attempts we've made to pay each other, it's worked 5 times. The decks are never compatible and then it kicks you off the server and the game stops working until I restart it. Epic fail.
1 ★Hands down, the most frustrating app I have ever downloaded. The game is good, but that's not what I am rating. I'm rating the app. It is bad, man. It crashes more than it works. Every game, I have to exit and reopen the app, EVERY game! That's if I even get to play. Sometimes, it crashes at matchmaking or at choosing to keep or mulligan. This app is such a time waster, and it's a shame because the game is fun. I will be uninstaling this app. Maybe I will try back in a year or two, maybe.
2 ★It's either really fun most of the time. not at all at times, due to the in-game shuffling system. But regardless, it's MTG on my phone. New updates, but still haven't fixed the issue with challenging friends on the friends list. I'll give it 5 stars again when this issue gets resolved. Apparently it's been an ongoing issue for several years now... C'mon Wizards of the Coast, take a fraction of your unfathomable bank account and fix your issues. We want to play your game not be annoyed with it.
2 ★The game is amazing overall....except when it freezes every other match...I have to close and reopen it in a hurry so I don't lose my turn and when I do get back in my match in time, I can't use my emotes, my companion dissappears from the playing field, and my avatar is switched to Ajani which seems to somehow be a default??? I'm going to continue playing and have the hopes that this issue gets resolved seeing as how I'm not the only player experiencing this
1 ★The game is quite fun to play but there's quite a few issues. The limited card selection is kind of disappointing. And the "updated" alchemy cards and arena exclusive cards make deck building a real pain. The biggest problem though is the constant crashing. The app doesn't even crash, the game just freezes entirely, and you'll have to quickly close/reopen the app and hope you were fast enough that your turn didn't get skipped.
3 ★Ranked games are very much pay to win, but overall I've had good experiences. Update: There's an incredibly frustrating bug when playing practice games with Sparky that happens during most games. On her combat phase, she'll start saying "hmmm" and will not stop. After about 5-10 minutes, she'll quit and you'll get an automatic victory. This makes it very difficult to test new decks. This is a well known bug that's been around for months. The devs need to fix it ASAP.
1 ★This game used to be great. Now trying to play with friends is virtually impossible. About once every 4-5 days you can actually direct challenge a friend, the rest of the time the game continually crashes. The developers say they can't fix it because they can't recreate the results that literally every single user is experiencing!!!!
1 ★Crashes a lot. Feels pay to win in a big way. I lose every match, there's not much I can do with the extremely limited number of cards you start with and it takes forever to get more when you lose every time. You can do practice matches against a bot but it's boring, and easy. There's no campaign most of the events require a purchase to participate in. The interface for building a deck is horrible to operate. Honestly the 360 games were the best way to play before they went away.
2 ★Yo I really wanna be able to turn off all the animation so that this s*** will actually run on my computer and my cell phone instead of freezing every 5 minutes. There is no reason. I should have to have all of the flashes and sound effects. And why is it on a cell phone I can't adjust the graphical quality. It heats up my phone way too quick.
4 ★Awesome rendition of Magic the Gathering, and I have a ton of fun playing, but occasionally it will get stuck on a loading screen or even freeze in the middle of a game, and I have to close the app completely and reopen it to unfreeze it. This is especially annoying when I am mid game, and I'm trying to beat the game delay clock, or when I have just won a game, because when I load back in I can't tell if the win processed any cards or coins or exp I won. Other than that, this would be a 5 star.
1 ★Constantly Crashes, constantly disconnected from the server during games, constantly "Waiting for server". Expect it every 3 games. Hope you reconnect fast enough, or you just lost a ranked match or even a match with gold/gems on the line. At least it happens enough that the opponent disconnects just as often and you get free wins. It's literally a card game. People take 1 turn a minute. How can the servers be too slow to handle this?
