実際に百名山を登頂しようという方にとってのガイドブック的な役割を果たすことはできませんが、登山を趣味とする方はむろん、百名山に興味のある一般の方々が、百名山の概要について知り、百名山への興味を深めることができる内容となっています。
・付録として、日本二百名山、三百名山、世界の有名峰100、日本百名峠のデータも収録しました。全ての山/峠に解説をつけているので、読みものとしても楽しめます。
