C’è un altro modo di fruire l’arte e la storia a Siena, ed è “La Storia per immagini”, il progetto MUSST- musei e sviluppo dei sistemi territoriali scelto dalla Direzione Generale Musei del Mibact, in ambito nazionale, che vede la Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena – Polo Museale della Toscana, capofila per la realizzazione di un percorso museale integrato sui temi della vita quotidiana e del paesaggio. La collaborazione tra le diverse istituzioni ha creato itinerari specifici e inclusivi per i vari pubblici, nell’unione di luoghi della cultura diversi tra loro: musei, chiese, e palazzi storici.Al visitatore è offerta la possibilità di “navigare” attraverso la narrazione visiva degli usi della quotidianità tramandati nel tempo e individuati negli elementi delle storie raffigurate legati alla ritualità, alle abitudini alimentari, all’abbigliamento, alla cura e all’assistenza,ai tempi del lavoro e del divertimento.
La proposta evidenzia inoltre il filo conduttore che lega direttamente le rappresentazioni pittoriche al paesaggio, nel confronto con le realtà ambientali ancora individuabili nel territorio senese.
Sono previste aperture straordinarie dei luoghi coinvolti (alcuni di questi appositamente fruibili per il MUSST) che diventano scenario di eventi culturali specifici.
