Esta Guía de Acogida, ha sido impulsada desde la estrategia para la gestión de la diversidad cultural Juntos En la misma dirección, iniciativa que viene funcionando desde el año 2009 de la mano del Área de Empleo, Comercio, Industria y Desarrollo Socioeconómico del Cabildo de Tenerife y de la Universidad de La Laguna, a través de su Fundación General. Juntos En la misma dirección tiene como objetivos principales construir una sociedad intercultural cohesionada, participativa y orgullosa de su diversidad. Para ello, se organiza en torno a diez grupos de trabajo que abordan temáticas específicas (prevención del racismo y la xenofobia, lucha contra la violencia de género, educación para el desarrollo, participación social y ciudadana, participación infantil y juvenil, diálogo interreligioso) relacionadas con la gestión positiva de la diversidad cultural, proponiendo y llevando a cabo acciones en los barrios y ciudades de la Isla que permitan alcanzar estos objetivos. En estos grupos de trabajo puede participar cualquier persona, entidad, colectivo o administración pública que lo desee, de forma que los objetivos, contenidos y acciones que se aborden partan de la propia sociedad. Con la combinación de varias metodologías participativas y dando especial importancia a la creación de espacios de encuentro y a las relaciones entre las personas, se está contribuyendo a la consolidación de una Isla que vive, siente y valora positivamente la diversidad cultural.Latest updates
