Description
佛教咒语，又名陀罗尼，梵语dha^ran!i^ 之音译。又作陀怜尼。意译总持、能持、能遮。即能总摄忆持无量佛法而不忘失之念慧力。换言之，陀罗尼即为一种记忆术。《大智度论》卷五、《佛地经论》卷五载，陀罗尼为一种记忆术，即于一法之中，持一切法；于一文之中，持一切文；于一义之中，持一切义；故由记忆此一法一文一义，而能联想一切之法，总持无量佛法而不散失。
陀罗尼能持各种善法，能遮除各种恶法。盖菩萨以利他为主，为教化他人，故必须得陀罗尼，得此则能不忘失无量之佛法，而在众中无所畏，同时亦能自由自在的说教。
法力会随着心的清净而增强，会随着心的散乱而减弱。
