La Corona Angelica, detta anche Coroncina di San Michele Arcangelo, si recita utilizzando una corona speciale composta di 39 grani e due medaglie, una delle quali porta l'effige dell'Arcangelo e l'altra di Maria.La Corona Angelica è una preghiera che fu rivelata alla serva di Dio Antonia de Astonac in Portogallo dall'Arcangelo Michele stesso. Le disse voler essere venerato con nove salutazioni corrispondenti ai nove Cori degli Angeli, seguite ognuna da un Pater e da tre Ave, concluse infine con quattro Pater. Il primo ad onore suo, il secondo a San Gabriele, il terzo a San Raffaele e il quarto al nostro Angelo Custode.
Nel 1851 Papa Pio IX esaminò la Corona Angelica e l’8 agosto del 1851 il Cardinale Prefetto Luigi Lambruschini firmò il Decreto di Approvazione. Il 24 novembre 1851 il Cardinale Prefetto Aquini concesse le indulgenze applicate ai defunti. Infine, il 3 settembre 1868, Pio IX concesse l’indulgenza plenaria alle solite condizioni (Confessione sacramentale, Comunione eucaristica e la preghiera secondo le intenzioni del Santo Padre).
