Une bonne partie des tours et châteaux de l’Anoia datent de la moitié du Xe s. à la moitié du XIe s. À l'époque, les comtes de Barcelone, Osona-Manresa et Berga-Cerdagne occupèrent et repeuplèrent le territoire, déplaçant les anciens possesseurs musulmans. Quand la région cessa d'être frontière, les châteaux devinrent le centre administratif des nouvelles autorités féodales.
