Με κέντρο αναφοράς τις ελληνικές παροιμίες, γίνεται μία προσπάθεια να αντιστοιχισθούν με αγγλικές, γαλλικές, γερμανικές, ιταλικές και ισπανικές, εστιάζοντας στις ιδιαίτερες εικόνες, έννοιες και λέξεις που χρησιμοποιεί ο κάθε λαός.
Παραλείφθηκε δηλαδή σκόπιμα κάθε ξενόγλωσση παροιμία που η εκφορά της είναι πανομοιότυπη με την αντίστοιχη ελληνική. Με άλλα λόγια, δεν πρόκειται για ένα απλώς μεταφραστικό εγχείρημα.
Πρόκειται για μία συγκριτική ταξινόμηση περίπου 3200 παροιμιών…
Ο Γιώργος Φράγκας γεννήθηκε στον Βόλο, το 1949. Μεγάλωσε στη Λάρισα.
Απασχολήθηκε ως διερμηνέας στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση (Βρυξέλλες, 1980-2011).
Τώρα, ζει στην Αθήνα.
