The free Downpour.com app gives your Android device access to all your downloadable audiobooks from the Downpour.com e-commerce website, complete with “single-touch” full library and audiobook list views.No Wi-Fi connection is needed to download your audiobooks. As long as you have a cell connection you can begin your download—but data rates may apply. Once downloaded, you can take your audiobooks with you on the go.

5 ★The thing I appreciate most about Downpour is their policy of "You bought it, you can download it and listen to it on whatever device you like." Yes, this app is great, but Downpour is the only audiobook company I've found that doesn't leash their customers to an app to listen to their books. Highly approve and recommend.
5 ★Great audio book service, better than audible because they are drm-free books. This means once you buy the book you own it! You can download it, and play it on any app or device you wish.
3 ★Sometimes glitchy, had to close and reopen because it wouldn't play and then didn't save my place and restarted the book. Then struggled to fast forward to where I was up to. Closed and reopened a few more times before it eventually worked
5 ★Most audiobooks sold DRM free so you can export them. The internal player is a bit annoying and doesn't let you customise Bluetooth button actions to skip back 30s so being able to export so you're not tied in is great. Annoyingly you do have to export on the web, not in the app.
4 ★The app is good. It has some bugs, tho like having to restart after pausing because it got stuck. I haven't seen anything major other than little things. Other than that, it has a great selection of books (At least I haven't found a book that they don't have that I want). Over all 4/5, I would recommend it.

3 ★I need to preface this by saying the service itself is fantastic, and it's the only place I'll likely buy audiobooks from moving forward. Their support has also been quite helpful. The service is 5/5 stars. Unfortunately, the listening experience has not been great. The Android app is buggy and routinely has issues (when I'm going 75mph on a Texas highway...). The online reader isn't much better. They also don't have chapter names or a way to override them with their own. 2/5 stars for that.

1 ★App is broken. Audiobooks randomly not playing, navigation janky. I see why the books here are a bit cheaper but not worth
1 ★Downpour's App is a complete fecal show, at least on OneUI 6. Crashes out every other chapter in spite of the latest fix allegedly addressing it. Oh and spare your sanity by not using this app with a car's Bluetooth. After turning off the radio, Downpour will crash and /forget where it was in the audio book/. Bit lost at how an audio file player in 2024 can fail this hard. My advice? Buy the books from Downpour, download the e-book audio file, and listen to it with some other audio player.
