Welcome to Kentucky Today, an online publication with all of the news of the day.We exist to keep the 1 million Kentuckians who identify themselves as Southern Baptist informed about what’s going on in the world around them.
By sheer numbers, Kentucky Baptists make up one of the largest communities in the Bluegrass State. This community is not defined by geographical boundaries, but by theological boundaries. It is a community nonetheless.
Kentucky Today will strive to serve that community by providing the latest and most significant news of the day.
Within our pages, you’ll find a full slate of world, national and state news courtesy of our affiliation with The Associated Press, the world’s largest newsgathering operation and the gold standard in journalism.
You’ll also find the latest business, sports, and even entertainment news in our pages, because, to engage the world, you need to know what’s going on in the world. Kentucky Today will strive to give you fair, balanced and accurate accounts of the good and the bad news of the day.
Coverage of our Kentucky Baptist community will, of course, be prominent in Kentucky Today. And we'll offer broader Southern Baptist news courtesy of Baptist Press, the Nashville-based news service.
Like any good newspaper, there also will be commentary that will help our community make sense of what’s going on around them.
In our Perspectives section, you’ll find some of the greatest writers of our day, including Albert Mohler, who for years has been providing conservative evangelical commentary to national audiences across all media formats.
While Kentucky Today is intended to help build community among Kentucky Baptists, its readership likely will be much broader. Political leaders, for example, will want to know what’s going on within our community. They’ll want to know the perspectives of our columnists regarding the issues at play in Frankfort and Washington.
Kentucky Baptists need to be well informed on the news of the day, and they need a vehicle to speak into those issues.
Kentucky Today is that vehicle.
