Description
In Gujarat, lakhs of farmers take the Insurance and many grievance applications remain unanswered due to unavailability of proper grievance redressal system.Directorate of Agriculture, Gandhinagar and Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department had initiated the idea of having centralized Mobile & Web Application for Grievance redressal for the Farmers of Gujarat State. As mentioned in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), there are multiple risks which farmers may face and they are liable to get claims accordingly.
The mobile app (and the Web Application) enables farmers to submit the their grievances from multiple platforms and see the status of the application. Farmers or authorized person on behalf of Farmer may enter the details of risk, photograph and details such as Village Name, Insurance Number etc. Once they submit the data, it would be verified by Taluka & District Officers and will be sent to the respective Insurance Companies.
Insurance Companies can approve or reject the application based on the data provided by the Farmer. The entire process could be monitored by the State for their decision making.
The app replaces the current manual method reduces the efforts and provides centralized platform for the grievance redressal.
