Description
This app provides details of UK windmills and watermills that are open to the public at various times througout the year, and in particular makes it easy to plan your visits during National Mills Weekend.National Mills Weekend (the second full weekend of May) is a national festival of our milling heritage that provides you with a fantastic opportunity to visit mills, including many which are not normally open to the public.
The details of all the mills are collected by the SPAB Mills Section (the UK's national organization for windmills and watermills), though the mills listed are owned by various organizations, including The National Trust, English Heritage, Kent County Council, and many private owners.
The app complements the National Mills Weekend website, providing a way to keep the information with you whilst you are out and about visiting mills, and quite possibly offline so unable to access the website.
Includes mills in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Jersey, and the Isle of Man.
If you do have mobile internet available, then the details pages link through to lots of additional information on the various mills, provided by Windmill World, The Mills Archive, and the Great British Mill Race.
