Description

Wear App Manager runs on your phone but manages the apps you have installed on your Wear OS watch. See all your Wear apps (and only your Wear apps) at a glance, and see more details about any of them. Easily uninstall ones you're not using. Wear App Manager puts you in control of your Wear apps at last.

NOTE: Google Play frequently seems to take a while to sync ownership to the watch, during which time it won't let you install, asking you to pay again. You just need to give it a little time, and then you can go ahead. I've opened a support ticket with them, but the wheels of Google grind slowly. Leaving a 1⭐ review here helps nobody!

ALSO: it's not possible to uninstall system apps from the watch, by any means (including this app).

WAM was the first app manager for Wear and is still the best! But don't just take our word for it:

"Some of the apps on your phone have Wear modules, but which ones? And what the heck do they do? Wear App Manager lists them all in one handy place." - Android Police

"Wear App Manager takes the guesswork out of the equation" - re/code

"It’s boring having to scroll through hundred of other apps from the settings menu. Enter Wear App Manager, a slick and easy way to see what’s taking up what on your wearable" - Android Headlines

"It’s a potentially useful tool and even more so if you’re a new Android Wear owner." - Android Authority

Full feature list:
▶ Quickly uninstall apps from watch (Wear 2 only)
▶ Notifications (on your watch, handheld, or both) when Wear apps are installed, updated, or uninstalled
▶ See permissions each app is actually using on your watch
▶ Storage space available on-device, and how much each app is using - in more detail than that shown by the Wear OS app
▶ Directly open system settings for an app, or its listing on Google Play, without cumbersome navigation on the watch (Wear 2 only)
▶ Share app details or lists with friends
▶ Launch apps (on watch or handheld) easily
▶ Shows apps installed only on watch (in development, or sideloaded), and those whose watch components are missing
▶ Sort app list by name, size, update or install date
▶ Full support for multiple wearable devices linked to your phone
▶ Lots of geeky internal details about each app, like version codes and install dates. Handy for devs!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★It not much different than the storage view from Android wear.. I mean I only see the installed apps and cannot uninstall not one of them. I have some apps from wearable software and could no uninstall them using this app. I had to factory reset the watch to get rid of them..
4 ★Pretty good, but I was expecting being able to remove apps *from the watch*. Apparently, the ones that can be removed at all are removed from both the watch and the phone, which is not necessarily what I need. --- Correction: Yes, it is clear from the description that uninstalling must be done from the app on the phone. What wasn't 100% clear is that it is not possible (most likely Google's brilliant design) to remove the watch component but still keep the phone app.
5 ★sony Xa ultra + Huawei steel wear.
4 ★I actually got this so I could get rid of the pesky "calling setup" app from my huaweii watch. It didn't identify it, and I figured it was a long shot anyway, but after using it for a little while I realized how handy and necessary something like this is since there is only limited space on wearables. 99 cents, while a typical cost for an app, is nearly a meaningless cost in the scope of things. I'll be keeping it.
4 ★This does EXACTLY what it says it will do. Take a moment reading thru what you're installing before you slam or downgrade an app because you didn't understand or take the time to isn't fair to the dev. When Android wear 2.0 comes out in the fall you'll then be able to manage apps on your device directly as well as have it on both the phone and device. Until then, blame Google. But I like the app, and the fact I know what's actually ON my watch, whereas before I had no idea really. So kudos to the developer!
1 ★All it does is uninstall the app off of your phone to remove it from the watch, you can do that yourself for free.
1 ★The name of this app is very misleading.
1 ★This uninstalls the app from the phone and watch. Pointless.
4 ★Found some things that I didn't even know were installed (thank you Verizon). Also easier to see what I have installed and decide if I still use that app or not, and let's me go to the Uninstaller and uninstall it.
3 ★Some watch faces marked as not on the watch are actually there. Some that are there don't show in your list. The sort order "last update date/time" does not reflect notifications I get about watch updates, but the notifications may be misleading.
1 ★Not much use other than the cool knowledge of some technical aspects of your apps. The claim "Easily uninstall ones you're not using" is true, but not really. I'd love to get rid of junk like Amazon, Play Music, Translate, etc. and this app will help you get rid of them....but on your phone also! I can do that without this app. Really not useful, definitely not worth the .99. Uninstalling now.
5 ★When I first started using Android Wear I was dismayed to learn that it is impossible to keep apps from downloading to your watch. This app at least lets me track the current status of these apps on my phone and watch. Well done.
