กระทรวงวัฒนธรรมได้ร่วมกับศาสนาสถานจัดกิจกรรมสวดมนต์ข้ามปี ในคืนก่อนวันปีใหม่ของทุกปีอย่างต่อเนื่อง มีประชาชนให้ความสนใจ และเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเป็นจำนวนมาก จากการสำรวจวิธีที่ประชาชนใช้ในการติดต่อข่าวสาร และกิจกรรมสวดมนต์ข้ามปี พบว่าประชาชนส่วนใหญ่ได้เข้าถึงเว็บไซต์ของกระทรวงวัฒนธรรม และเว็บไซต์กรมการศาสนา ในการค้นหาและติดตามข้อมูลดังกล่าว เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมการประชาสัมพันธ์ และสร้างความสะดวก ให้กับประชาชนในการติดตามข่าวสาร เพื่อเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมสวดมนต์ข้ามปี กระทรวงวัฒนธรรมจึงได้จัดทำ โมบายแอพพลิเคชัน ที่ชื่อว่า “New Year’s Prayer” โดยประชาชนสามารถใช้ประโยชน์ ในการสืบค้นข้อมูลศาสนสถานที่จัดกิจกรรมสวดมนต์ข้ามปีในระยะรัศมี 50 กิโลเมตร จากตำแหน่งพิกัดปัจจุบันของผู้ใช้งาน ในรูปแบบแผนที่ดิจิทัล โดยสามารถลงทะเบียนสำรองที่นั่งเพื่อเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกับทางศาสนาสถาน นอกจากนั้นระบบดังกล่าว ยังมีบริการสำหรับประชาชนที่ไม่สามารถมาร่วมสวดมนต์ข้ามปีที่ศาสนสถานได้โดยระบบจะบริการวีดีทัศน์ของกรมการศาสนาไว้บริการเพื่อประชาชนจะได้เข้าร่วมพิธีสวดมนต์ข้ามปีเสมือนกับได้เข้าร่วมพิธี ณ ศาสนสถานจริงอีกด้วย
