PCGen Character Sheet allows you to import .xml files generated by PCGen to create dynamic character sheets for use on your Android device.
If you want a character sheet app for your device but don't want to enter all the information manually onto your device, PCGen can do all the hard work of creating your character for you, and then just use email or Dropbox to import it into the App and make your character sheet mobile.
When you want to level up, just update your character on PCGen, email/Dropbox it to yourself and re-import!

Things to note:
*Read the help screen on first load - it answers most questions!
*All code used to make the character sheets look familiar to PCGen users, is my own.
*CMB - the app detects whether your imported CMB Stat value is the same as your STR or DEX modifier, to determine which stat should affect it through Stat Linking (due to certain feats, whether you character size is Tiny etc...)
*Conditional Save and Combat modifiers don't appear to actually be exported in the .xml, which is why the boxes will be empty, the boxes are present however to balance out the look and feel of the character sheet, and in preparation in case the information is exported in the future (though an app update would be required to read it).
*Stat Linking does not affect damage done by bows, as the .xml does not identify Composite bows, if the name and description is custom and did not use the word "Composite" the app would have no way of knowing so this was omitted.
*There is no ammo tracking as the .xml does not provide enough information to efficiently do this.
*If you have you imported a problematic .xml file and the app crashes everytime it loads, use the app settings in android to clear data associated with the app.
*Use the csheet_fantasy_generic_export.xml template to create your .xml file, all .xml files need to have the word PCGEN somewhere in the file name (upper/lower/mixed case is fine), and the extension must remain .xml, the app will try to read the files from default Downloads directory of your device, which is where email applications such as GMail should save files to by default.

What's new in version 1.3j
Replaced the import dialog with the device's native Document Picker.This is due to an issue with Dropbox Chooser which was returning DIRECT_LINK instead of FILE_CONTENT.
Some users may experience an app crash on first load of the Document Picker due to legacy code issues, but subsequent attempts should be successful.
How to install PCGen Character Importer APK on Android phone or tablet?
Download PCGen Character Importer APK file from ApkClean, then follow these steps:
Update Phone Settings
- Go to your phone Settings page
- Tap Security or Applications (varies with device)
- Check the Unknown Sources box
- Confirm with OK
Go to Downloads
- Open Downloads on your device by going to My Files or Files
- Tap the APK file you downloaded (com.dysfunctional.apps.pcgencharactersheet-v1.3j-ApkClean.apk)
- Tap Install when prompted, the APK file you downloaded will be installed on your device.

Q: What is an APK File?
A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.
Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?
A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

4 ★Cleric spells which are auto known in pcgen did not come overwith the import. Otherthen that great app.

5 ★Simple, does what it says, and developer is super responsive to feedback. I reported a bug and it was fixed the next day! Best tool available to bring my characters from pcgen to game night.
5 ★I would love editable gold and inventory notes. Something of the sort. Otherwise, this app is the greatest.
5 ★I had used the d20 Character Sheet app in the past, but the moment I tested out this I couldn't go back. The interface looks so much cleaner. It's easy to navigate around, and being able to switch through multiple character sheets without any trouble has been surprisingly useful. What's more is Disfunctional Apps' quickness in fixing what bugs may come up on importing. Definitely worth a purchase.
4 ★so good, I upgraded from the free version. Works fine on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10. As pcgen is highly customisable (and free), it should be possible to get the xml output from it enhanced to include any other bits that could be displayed
4 ★Like others I had tried a few different character sheet apps without much luck. I basically just wanted my paper character sheet just on my tablet. I second the request for arrow counters and such. Also it is slightly annoying that it forces you to view in landscape mode, but nothing unbearable
5 ★Tried the free version and liked it enough to buy. This is an excellent PCGen app! I've used this for both playing and DMing, and I can happily say it works wonderfully for both. For a player: Easy and familiar layout, with all the information you need quickly to hand. Weapon rolls, spell tracking, stat modifying and skill checks are all really easy to use. Can also track your HP (lethal and non-lethal) which is incredibly handy. Saves me scribbling out all over a character sheet all the time! Makes looking up feats and abilities much easier than leafing through many sheets of paper to find the one thing you're looking for. For a DM: Having all my players' sheets open at once makes combat MUCH quicker, as I have all their AC's and saves readily to hand, as well as being able to roll certain skill checks for them etc.
5 ★While there's still some functionality I'd like to see added such as automatic spell damage calculation, overall this is an amazing app that makes keeping track of your characters a breeze. I ran a trial with this as DM in a high-level game and loved how easy it was to calculate iterative attacks and HP modifiers, as well as switching from between multiple characters during a battle. So whether playing as a DM or player, this tool is fantastic.
4 ★It would be good to have editable counts for items consumed and charges used
4 ★I have seen many applications for characters on android products. They usually need you to input the info into the device and the math is wonky. This app imports from a proven (free) product and still lets you apply buffs and conditions. It's pretty much an open beta version right now, but the bugs are being smoothed out quickly.
5 ★This app is exactly what I've been looking for to integrate pcgen managed charactersheets into my game without having to repeatedly print them out. It's laid out well and even rolls to see if you backed up a crit. A must have for players and dungeon masters alike!
