For those driving, you dock your phone and you want it to always turn on to look at those apps with directions as and when you get lost in some foreign places etc.To configure, long tap on Home screen -> Widgets -> Light On. Four shapes in a line appear. Tap Dim,Bright,Brightest,Off. Their name indicate their function. After which you can start to activate your other apps and use them with the screen remaining turn on until you tap Off.
IMPORTANT:
If you are also running other apps that hold a lock to keep the screen on, tapping on the Off widget will not turn the screen off. It can only turn off those previously tapped Dim,Bright,Brightest. Since screen is always turn on, make sure the Android smart-phone is plugged to some external power else the battery will go flat very fast.
