Description

Optimize your WiFi network using WiFi Analyzer (open-source) by examining surrounding WiFi networks, measuring their signal strength as well as identifying crowded channels.

Users' privacy and security is a huge concern these days and WiFi Analyzer (open-source) is designed to use as few permissions as possible. It asks for just enough to perform the analysis. Plus, it is all open source so nothing is hidden! Most notably, this application does not require access to internet, so you can be sure it does not send any personal/device information to any other source and it does not receive any information from other sources.

WiFi Analyzer is under active development by volunteers.
WiFi Analyzer is free, has no-ads and does not collect any personal information.
WiFi Analyzer is not a WiFi password cracking or phishing tool.

Features:
- Identify nearby Access Points
- Graph channels signal strength
- Graph Access Point signal strength over time

Notes:
- Android 9 introduced Wi-Fi scan throttling. Android 10 has a new developer option to toggle the throttling off under (Settings > Developer Options > Networking > Wi-Fi scan throttling).
- Android 9.0+ requires location permission and location services to perform a WiFi scan.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★Used to be a good app. After a recent update it now Demands that I enable location before it will open. It could be due to my phone updating to Pie. Either way I don't understand why I have to enable Location/GPS in order to use a WiFi scanner. It is not acceptable. Update: Confirmed Pie requires Location services for WiFi scanning. Utterly rediculous tactic to get people to leave Location enabled. KMA Google! 5 Star app aside from that.
5 ★Edit: someone on the development team sent a comment super fast. My problem is Androids fault, not the app. I also missed the experimental "disable WiFi scan throttling". That seems to have fixed it. Great app. Original review:Loved this app, but on my Motorola it no longer updates the AP list in any sort of reasonable time. I have to kill the app and reopen then sometimes it updates. I can leave a building with WiFi and 20 minutes later it still shows the access points that I'm no longer near.
5 ★Use this app when next to a car or police car or anything with a wifi hotspot or gives a signal. Then set an alert when thos things are in range. whala now you have what we called an early warning system of sorts in the military. WiFi Analyzers are a great tool for anyone who wants to be aware of their surroundings. Everyone else is watching you. learn how to peer back. Ive incorporated the WiFi app to work with my gps. Set points by ip instead of address and see a whole new world. Awesome!
2 ★You can make the signal strength chart update fast but it isn't really. Walk across the house and it says the same. Wait 5 min and it'll finally change
2 ★The app demands that location be enabled. It then goes on to explain it does not connect to the internet, so location will not be reported. However this app, and probably others that demand location, may be mapping WiFi router (also called WiFi beacon) location. Wifi router location information is in great demand, because it tracks you more precisely than GPS, and WiFi beacon tracking is enabled, EVEN IF YOU DELIBERATELY DISABLE LOCATION SERVICES. It is another deceptive cheat.
3 ★Love the fact that it is free and open-source, but even after giving the annoyingly needed location permission, it forever sits with no signals detected :( I am guessing that it is due to either the hardware or the "9 Go" OS version, since I have found 𝘯𝘰 apps that will show any signals (even though the Wi-Fi Chooser shows many).
1 ★This app now forces you to give your location and collect your data, all i want is to check wifi signals. I wont be using this any more if this is going to collect my data and force me to turn on my GPS. How utterly ridiculous! This app used to be fine, now it sucks. Edit: is the app useful? yes. But, developers need to push back against google. They keep harvesting more and more data, and users are unable to stop it, we can't opt out. Developers need to come together and say that what google is forcing users to do is wrong. And at least as far as this app goes, i will be using an older build that does NOT require me to turn on my GPS to look at wifi signals.
5 ★The only app I could find which shows the channel width used by each network. Other apps only show the "primary" channel for each network. Short of a true RF noise analysis, looking at the primary channels in use alone isn't enough to tell which channels are free. This app also has good features for filtering and pausing updating.
2 ★Not updating signal strength. Go get an app called wifiman by Ubiquiti Networks instead. It is the best tool I've used. Great interface in its simplicity while relaying all the details needed. Thanks for the reply from WiFi analyzer. Despite changing the developer setting, I cannot get the app to update signal strength on either a Pixel 1 or a OnePlus 7T which are both on Android 10.
3 ★App is nice, but, I really would like a display that only shows active access points. When I see my home access point in the display while I am more than 20 miles from home it's just clutter I don't need.
5 ★Yup! This app. Is NOT working. S10-G5 android 9. Thanks for responding! Google location services are enabled as well as GPS. G-Map confirms GPS, and Google services (in settings) shows enabled... Steps taken: installed app caches/data cleared, phone memory cleared, phone turned off for 1 minute, restarted. After stable, GPS turned on andverified, Google Location Services turned on, WiFiAnalyzer downloaded and installed. App opens and is unresponsive....?
5 ★Great app for analyzing the best frequencies for routers. For all the people complaining about it needing your location, the app is open-source, it's not selling your data. It just needs it for searching for networks if you're above Android 6. That's just a fact of life.
