이음 - 북한말 사전남과 북이 갈라선 지 어언 70여 년.
어느덧 풍습과 사회, 문화와 말이 다르게 느껴집니다.
그러나 일시적인 다름이 우리를 영원히 갈라놓을 수 없습니다.
우리는 하나의 말과 글을 통해 생각을 공유하는 한민족이기 때문입니다.
이음은 통일과 화합의 시대적 배경에서
의사소통을 위한 작은 밑거름이 되겠다는 의미로 만들어졌습니다.
남과 북의, 서로 다른 말을 이해하면서
좀 더 서로의 생각과 문화를 잘 이해할 수 있는
작은 도구가 되기를 바랍니다.
이음은 총 네 개의 분류로 이루어져 있습니다.
첫 항목인 사전은 6만9천여 북한말을 검색할 수 있는 시스템입니다.

둘째 항목인 퀴즈는 평소 잘 알지 못했던 북한말을 풀어봄으로써 북한 말에 대한 흥미와 관심을 유도하기 위해 마련되었습니다.
셋째 항목인 다른 말 같은 뜻은 외래어 표기의 경우처럼 동일한 대상을 지칭하는 단어가 서로 다른 것을 모아 놓은 것입니다.
넷째 항목인 같은 말 다른 뜻은 의사소통에 가장 장애가 되는 단어들을 모아 놓은 것입니다. 같은 말을 하고 있는데, 서로 다르게 이해할 수 있는 단어를 모아놓았습니다.
