Description
La Cate és una entitat cultural empordanesa sense ànim de lucre fundada l’any 1921 que té la seva seu a l’edifici del Patronat de la Catequística, reconegut com a Bé Cultural d’Interès Nacional per la Generalitat de Catalunya l’any 2015. L’edifici, d’estil racionalista, consta de 5 espais que són destinats a tot tipus d’activitats culturals promogudes per les diferents entitats, associacions i col·lectius de la ciutat de Figueres que en fan ús i conformen el que anomenem ‘viver cultural’ de La Cate.L’any 2014, el Patronat de la Catequística va ser distingit amb la concessió de la Fulla de Figuera de Plata de Figueres pels mèrits en quant a difusió de la cultura a la ciutat de Figueres. El setembre de 2015, l’edifici del Patronat va ser guardonat per la Fundació DOCOMOMO a proposta del Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya. Finalment, l’any 2017 vam rebre el Premi Ateneus 2017, a la comunicació associativa.
