Plate armor was first introduced during the late 13th century. Eventually, full plate armor was introduced during the 15th century and weigh about 50 lbs.
The medieval knight’s armor consists of many different parts. For example, the Sabatons were the armor for the feet and consisted of riveted iron plates on the boots. These are the part of the armor to be put on first.
The hand armors are the knight’s gloves and were called Gauntlets and had ringed metal plates over the fingers. Spikes called Gadlings were then attached to the knuckles of gauntlets. The Chest Armor was referred to as the Breast Plate.
