1 ★The app doesn't work very well. For one of our teams, the app said that they were 'finished' after the first 15 minutes. There was no way to start back up. The challenges are broken. It asks you to take a photo of something, but the app has no way of verifying you took a photo of what it asked for. Team challenges are presented in a way that makes it very, very easy to accidentally hit an answer. The app itself has to completely reload if you use your phone for anything else (internet browser, camera, etc).
2 ★It's really frustrating that our hunt was plagued by a rather frustrating glitch, because the content was fun, and a nice date night, if a bit simplistic. The gps wouldn't update how many feet away for either of us (one android, one iphone), making the navigation of the crooked streets of Greenwich Village too difficult. With a functioning GPS it would've been challenging, but edifying when we knew we were on the right track. Would upgrade stars if I felt like the issue was addressed.
4 ★This was a great experience. The only reas I'll n that I did not give it 5 stars is because of the small lack of direction regarding the challenges. with 6 team members we were unclear whose challenge to do first as well as when to open the trivia questions. It was unclear if we needed to do things before or after we found the next location. Some of the direction information was not correct either. Luckily I brought a map.
3 ★Good concept. It didn't work as advertised. I shared a device with my niece and we didn't get individual challenges like the other players in our group. Everyone answers the same questions. There aren't individual roles. We could have purchased one ticket for our whole group and had almost the same experience at a fraction of the cost. It took a while to get our team set up. It was not intuitive. The 11 year old loved the game.
5 ★While there were some minor technical issues ( if you back out of a scavenger hunt Lobby before you start the hunt you lose a ticket, and if for some reason you drop out of the lobby without you doing anything you lose those tickets as well), I was able to get a refund very easily and promptly which I really appreciate for the additional tickets I had to purchase. Over all the activities were a lot of fun although we recommend the photo challenges instead of the Explorer or Brainiac ones. I would use this app again
5 ★This is a great way to see a new city, or to explore new places in your own hometown! If you have a pair of walking shoes, a few hours of free time, and a motivation to learn new things, this app will make your day! Family-friendly but good for couples, gal pals or a group, this app is a fun cure for boredom and just the right balance between do-it-yourself site-seeing and tour guides. Highly recommend!
2 ★Everytime we tried to do the challenges the app froze and we had to restart the app and/or restart the phone. This happened on both the Samsung Galaxy and the Google Pixel phones so I believe it is the app not the phones. As long as we just navigated to the places it was fine, but we were locked out of all the extras because we got tired of restarting so many times. My kids who signed on as the photographer and the brainiac were both disappointed because they couldn't do their challenges.
2 ★Unimpressed with app ... Pay service should not be so buggy. Map zooms out way too far when looking at an area for hunts. Mixes hunts from other cities like Texas in South Carolina. All the points on the map seem impressive until you realize they are mostly bar crawls and you are just going to be taking pictures along the way. I dont need a scavenger hunt to find bars.
3 ★Fun idea but the app could use a lot of improvement: the app was quite unstable, especially whenever we wanted maps. the camera doesn't allow zoom and does not allow saving to gallery which is very clunky. it's highly inconvenient to look at the hunt progress. also, there is no warning on the newcastle hunt that we are about to finish and no confirmation.
2 ★App has so much potential, but it was a frustrating and unpleasant experience. This is something that anyone can create themselves for free yet we had to pay for a ticket, which doesn't get you anything special. The bars have no idea what you're doing. Tasks are a little rediculous especially in a public place, half the time the list of bars was old (aka they were closed down and there wasn't a long backup list). Android and iPhone users experienced very buggy app with lots of issues.
1 ★This app is not fully intended to be used by Android users. A lot of the features crash when you try using and their Tech support says that Android users don't have access to that feature. Then why make the app available to us if we can't fully use it? Huge disappointment, I'll be sure to not even waist my time or money. Thankfully the hunt code I was given was a gift...
1 ★Pre registering and adding my players app kept taking me back to start.finally got it set up. Arrive at start , asks for photo, app spinning saving the photo for over 20 min. So had no idea where to go. Husbands phone doing same thing. So everytime it asked for a photo we were knocked out of app and had to restart phone. Which was about 10x during the hunt. Very frustrating. Not $40 well spent very disappointed.
