Crumbs is the fun way to explore an area and see its sights…Think of it as a treasure hunt, walking tour and trivia quiz - all rolled into one!
Instead of following a guide book or joining a walking tour, discover the route to the major sights by finding "Crumbs".
Crumbs are clues based on any permanent features found along the way: buildings, signs, statues, sculptures and so on. Trivia Crumbs are spread throughout the Trails to give you interesting titbits about the history and culture of the area. Some Crumbs are easy and others are slightly more cryptic - so there's something for everyone, adults and children alike.
Crumbs Trails take you to the key sights and curiosities - so it's perfect for sightseeing. When you want to sightsee ¬¬- or take a break - Press "Pause" to stop the clock.
For an extra challenge, hunt for hidden "Gems" - photos of something unusual found somewhere along the Trail.
If you want to get competitive, the App logs your score (for correct Crumbs and Gems found), your time, and even the number of steps you've taken. The App logs your High Score for each Trail and your total for all Trails on the Leaderboard. Crumbs even tells you when there's a good photo opportunity!
Following Trails is straightforward - literally! Keep going straight on until the App directs you otherwise. But if you're stuck, there's a "Help" button on the Map to guide you to the next Crumb. Trails are easy to reach too ¬- because they always start and finish at major transport hubs or landmarks. In London, there's a Crumbs Trail starting at every Zone 1 Station!
Trails are typically 1-2 miles long (1.5 to 3km) and typically take an hour or so. So you can burn some calories too!
If you're in a place where you can't read the language of the clues, no problem - the App will translate the text of signs found en route.
