Liberté est l'hymne national de la Guinée depuis son indépendance en 1958.
La musique vient de l'air traditionnel Alfa Yaya, adapté par le Guinéen Fodéba Keïta, auparavant retravaillé par Djély Mamadou Kandé et les paroles sont du Français Jean Cellier.
Cet air traditionnel est une mélodie mandingue qui est redevenue populaire après avoir été utilisée en 1904 lors d’une conférence de notables afin de saluer l’arrivée d’Alpha Yaya Diallo, almamy du Fouta-Djalon, actuelle province de Labé.
Les paroles de la nouvelle version sont inspirées des combats que Jean Cellier, professeur de musique à Conakry mena dans la Résistance française et l'anticolonialisme.
La Guinée, en forme longue la République de Guinée, aussi appelée "Guinée-Conakry" du nom de sa capitale pour la différencier de la Guinée-Bissau et de la Guinée équatoriale, est un pays d’Afrique de l'Ouest. Elle a pris son indépendance de la France le 2 octobre 1958.
