♦- Asas memperoleh bantuan hukum, yaitu setiap orang punya kesempatan, bahkan wajib memperoleh bantuan hukum guna pembelaan atas dirinya.
♦- Asas terbuka, yaitu pemeriksaan tindak pidana dilakukan secara terbuka untuk umum.
♦- Asas pembuktian, yaitu tersangka/terdakwa tidak dibebani kewajiban pembuktian, kecuali diatur lain oleh UU.
