Description

The PocketFMS Foundation has been providing flight planning and moving map systems since 2003. EasyVFR basic NL edition , supported by IenM, AOPA NL, KNVvL and LVNL, is a free version of PocketFMS’ popular EasyVFR app. It was specifically designed for VFR pilots flying in the Netherlands, with the primary purposes of reducing airspace infringements and improving NOTAM awareness.

COMPLEX AIRSPACE MADE EASY.
EasyVFR basic NL edition was designed specifically to assist VFR pilots in the complex Dutch airspace to avoid unintended entry into controlled airspace. Your position relative to the airspace surrounding you is displayed, and you’ll have no trouble staying clear of regions you shouldn't enter. Tap the map to see an airspace’s vertical limits, class, purpose and lateral limits.

In flight, you will get a warning, both visual and aural, as you approach a controlled airspace. The airspace boundary will be highlighted and you will be provided with the appropriate call sign and frequency to negotiate entry permission, if applicable.

NOTAMS MADE EASY.
NOTAMs can easily be reviewed and highlighted; no more tedious manual plotting. A clever system, developed by PocketFMS and mimicked by many, allows you to hide NOTAMs you consider irrelevant for your situation. Download the latest NOTAMs shortly before your flight commences and review only the NOTAMs that you consider to be of interest for your flight – not 8 pages of irrelevant stuff to muddle through. A point briefing is generated for you in EasyVFR basic NL with up-to-date NOTAMs via a live feed from EuroControl.

In flight you will get a warning as you approach a NOTAM that you have not specifically hidden. You can store a copy of your NOTAM briefing in the PocketFMS Cloud for later reference, or print it via the EasyPrint option - even from your phone or tablet.

POSITION AWARENESS MADE EASY.
The 'Position' tab provides you with information on your current position in a format that makes reporting your position to ATC easy: “3.5 NM SW of EHLE-Lelystad” – but of course also as a coordinate. Besides that, it also gives you the frequency and call sign for the most relevant air traffic unit in your immediate vicinity.

EasyVFR basic NL supports reading of GPX based flight plans. When a GPX flight plan is loaded, a NOTAM route briefing is given for that specific flight plan.
After your flight, the track covered will have been stored in a so called breadcrumb. Solid prove you didn’t even scratch that CTR!

COSTS AND USE.
EasyVFR basic NL is free to download and use. Airspace information is updated at least every 28 days and these updates are also totally free of charge. NOTAMs are provided by a secure and live connection to EuroControl, ensuring that you have the latest NOTAMs from a reliable source. All NOTAM updates are of course also free.

EasyVFR basic NL should not be used outside the Amsterdam FIR. The minimum requirements are 1GB Ram; for proper in flight use, GPS is required.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★Doesn't keep GPS connection open. I have to keep opening Google maps to get GPS connection. Any ideas?
3 ★On my android devices, Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S, it wants to try to open all kind of stuff. If you want to open a contact from your contacts list, Android asks if you want to open it with Airspace Avoid or Contacts. Same accounts for all other kinds of things you want to open, mail, pdf files, music.... If this is solved, I would consider reinstalling it. Because it makes my devices kind of unusable. Further the performance is not to good. But I really like the initiative for more safety and less chance of Airspace infringements!
