RideSafe ensures your safety while travelling in a cab, taxi or auto, by automatically detecting a deviation in your route to your destination. This is done via a new algorithm invented by a team of IIT and BITS-Pilani graduates. The algorithm monitors your ongoing cab ride in real-time for any suspicious on-road activity by the driver, and in case of detecting a deviation from route we inform your selected contacts. You only need to enter your destination, and don't need to take any fixed routes. We intelligently understand when your cab is talking an alternate route to say avoid traffic, or when the signal has been lost due to a say a tunnel, as compared to when your driver is trying to cause trouble.
Now you can sleep peacefully in your office cab, while feeling assured you will reach home safe, or take that late night cab from airport or a pub confidently. It works smoothly in any cab or taxi, private or official, anywhere in the world. We also inform your selected contacts about the start of your trip, and your arrival to destination, via SMS completely FREE of cost. Live independent.
RideSafe, for each trip, provides you a URL link via which you can share your ongoing trip route and current location (updated live) privately with your friends and family. The link opens in the phone browser, and can be shared by WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook or email and doesn't require any special app, permission or invites to view. Tracking stops automatically when you reach your destination. An example link: http://goo.gl/MPMZKa . Similar to the live link available in Uber and Ola, except this works universally.
The live link is also a great way to share your expected time of arrival (ETA) while going to meet someone or visiting a friend. No need to repeatedly ask and answer questions along the lines of "Where are you?". Each trip is new unique link, and stops monitoring automatically on reaching destination, so no privacy concerns.
Unlike other safety apps such as VithU (WithU), Himmat, bSafe, WatchMeOver, Circle of 6, which either only provide you information or rely on your manual action and intervention when in distress, RideSafe automatically detects such potentially unsafe situations and raises an alarm, which also works as a strong deterrent.
RideSafe updates your location during an ongoing trip to our secure servers via military grade encrypted channels, which help us algorithmically monitor your trip to ensure your safety. We have made many aggressive optimizations to keep battery consumption at the minimum.
