Description

Pacific Crest Trail is the all-in-one app for the official Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.

Thru-hikers, day hikers, volunteers, friends and family, future hikers, or arm-chair hikers and trail enthusiasts will all find something useful.

For Hikers:
• Most up-to-date trail and town data crowdsourced by thousands of hikers. See water reports, snow conditions, stream crossing water levels, bus schedules, restaurant and lodging reviews, and more.
• Any user can add waypoints, photos, comments, update descriptions, and edit any content in the app, in real time. Think Wikipedia!
• Download topo maps, road maps, and satellite images for offline use.
• Navigate using GPS while in Airplane mode. Everything in the app works while offline after the initial data download.
• View elevation profiles and compute distances to locations along the trail.
• Share your location (optional) and see where others are on the trail.
• See a real-time feed of contributions other hikers are making.
• Search the map by name or point type, search the activity feed by hiker name, location, or type of edit.

For Friends and Family:
• Track the location of your hiker on the trail.

For Trail Maintenance Crews and Land Management Agencies:
• See real-time hikers reports of trail damage, blowdowns, and infrastructure maintenance needs (e.g., washed out bridges).

For Future Hikers and Trail Enthusiasts:
• Explore and learn about the trail. See current photos, use the wealth of information and hiker reports to plan your hike and resupply stops.

The Pacific Crest Trail is part of the HikerBot family of apps. We also have apps for the following trails: Appalachian Trail (AT), Continental Divide Trail (CDT), John Muir Trail (JMT), Sierra High Route (SHR), Wonderland Trail (WT), Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR), Continental Divide Singletrack Trail (CDST), Hayduke Trail (HDT), Arizona Trail (AZT), Pacific Coast Trail.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I like to use it in combination with halfmile.
3 ★Having difficulty following my son on the trail. It will not since up withhis phone. I also hate that he defaults to my location when I am searchingfor him at his known location. Any help on singing door phones would beappreciated.
4 ★It's a great tool for every Hiker oit there and it is alot of fun to keepthe up to date. Unfortunately I cannot add new waypoints and I haven'tfound any troubleshooting yet.
5 ★Works great even without cell service, follows the trail accurately
5 ★Hikerbot is to Guthooks, what Guthooks is to Google Maps.
3 ★This morning PCT app began to install again. I don't think hikerbot has the funds to support the servers needed for the data files needed for installation and downloading. Has some interesting features over Guthook. Needs a little work and funds to be production ready ... I think this app is DOA and cannot be install. Server for data seen not unavailable. Contacted support ... no response. App is very difficult to install. Currently a server is down and the initial files do not install so the app does not work. Offline map are really large so you need sdcard. If you can get the app installed it's a good app and has some neat features.
4 ★Seems like a good app. Trying to figure out how to add someone to see my progress though. Getting ready for a good section hike next week and would like my wife to be able to see my progress.
4 ★Love the idea and direction this app is taking. Awesome tool for the PCT, however trying to add someone as a friend to share locations with, seems to be hidden or at least I can't find it.
5 ★Cool.
5 ★A vert usefull tool to prepare for my thru-hike. Maps are easy to understand. The list view for points of interest is great. It gives you millage between points and makes it easy to know how far away your next water source or campsite is.
5 ★Great app using it southbound on PCT now.
5 ★great app
