Hanan Attaki lahir di Aceh pada tanggal 31 Desember 1981 dengan nama Tengku Hanan Attaki.
Ia merupakan anak ke 5 dari 7 bersaudara.
Pengalamannya mengenal al-Qur’an secara lebih dekat diawali pada usia kanak-kanak.
Sejak SD ustadz Hanan sudah mendapat beasiswa.
Terakhir ia berhasil menjadi qori terbaik versi Fajar TV, Kairo 2005, dan mengisi acara tilawah al-Qur’an “Min Ajmalis Soth” di dua Channel (Fajar Tv & Iqro’ Tv).
Saat kuliah pun mendapat beasiswa. Di keluarga beliau, dialah orang pertama yang kuliah dan kuliahnya pun ke luar negeri. Perjalanan ke Mesir, adalah awal beliau ke luar negeri dengan Visa Turis.
