This app has been developed keeping in mind the battery usage that other conventional widget applications consume. Simple Text Clock Widget uses minimal battery power and makes use of stock Android OS features to power the widget. This helps in consuming very less battery power as compared to other apps. And yes, this app will only work when you are using your phone, once you lock your device there would be no updates in the background and this will go in power save mode. As soon as you unlock your device again, the widget would display the current time instantly!
