L’ECO TRAIL delle Vie di San Francesco è la manifestazione competitiva di specialità - Trail Running - che si svolge sui monti Amerini e Tuderti, e unisce ai classici valori del podismo su strada, aspetti unici derivanti dal suo eccezionale contatto con le aree naturali protette in cui si svolge.La quarta edizione del L’ECO TRAIL delle Vie di San Francesco è prevista per le giornate del 2, 3 e 4 ottobre 2015. Avrà partenza ed arrivo presso la p.zza di Attigliano e attraverserà i comuni facenti parte della Maratona dell’Olio seguendo tracciati storici e nuovi percorsi realizzati proprio per l’evento. I Comuni interessati sono: Attigliano, Alviano, Cocciano, Montecchio, Baschi, Civitella del Lago, Melezzole, Toscolano, Santa Restituta, Macchie, Lugnano e Giove, per un totale di 124 km con un dislivello misurato in 5.600 mt (distanze intermedie previste 66/26 km). Il territorio è molto vasto e al suo interno è molto sentita la presenza di San Francesco attraverso, monasteri, chiese, spechi e romitori che ne hanno visto il passaggio. Un viaggio nella storia che si ricongiunge all’esistente Cammino dei protomartiri meglio conosciuto come Cammino della Luce, Tra Terni e Amelia. All’ interno di tale contesto sportivo si inserisce un progetto di marketing territoriale volto a valorizzare e a promuovere le ricchezze naturalistiche e paesaggistiche, le eccelenze enogastronomiche e le tradizioni popolari a livello nazionale ed internazionale, struttando proprio l’ ampio pubblico portato dall’ Eco Trail delle Vie di San Francesco - atleti, accompagnatori, spettatori. Per il 2015 si prevede di arrivare a 450 persone tra partecipanti e accompagnatori che stazioneranno per tre giorni nel nostro territorio, più un pubblico più o meno itinerante a seguito della manifestazione.
