1 ★At this totally useless! Does not stay connected. Does not have updated information. There's also cost to message with an app. You're better off bringing a set of walkie talkies to communicate with loved ones.
1 ★Not worth the time or trouble. Couldn't stay connected to the ships wifi. Was able to get or send messages for almost all of our trip. Obviously guest services must get numerous complaints because they didn't even ask what the issue was when I said that the internet manager sent me over, they just credited me the $9.99 for all four of the phones I tried the app on. My opinion the app needs to preform more like the touch screens throughout the ship...
1 ★Garbage, garbage. Not worth it. Just came back from my second cruise, second time using it, 3 years apart. Nothing changed. You'd think with all these bad reviews, NCL would do something to correct it. Don't hold your breath. It works OK to keep an eye on what is happening on the ship and keep an eye on your account activities and that is it. DON'T bother using it for messages, phone calls across the ship ($9.99 per phone ). Does not stay connected. Messages rarely making to the designated individual. Phone calls rarely make it. The servers behind the scenes look like they are running on 30 years old machines. Can't handle the load unless it is after midnight. This app, from the communications point of view is not even a beta, more like an alpha. A family of 4 would pay almost $40 for loads of frustration. Grab a walkie talkie and save yourself the hassle. GARBAGE..
1 ★Poor quality. Each time you disconnect and reconnect to the ship's wi fi, the app becomes unusable until you forcefully kill it (in settings->apps) and restart it again. The price for messaging other passengers is also rediculously high. Unfortunately, as Norwegian has a complete monopoly of electronic communication on board the ship, a way-overpriced wi fi plan is the only alternative to this crappy app.
2 ★Def has problems with notifications. Helps to communicate on the ship but nothing urgent. Not sure if it's worth paying for on the boat.
1 ★Works only when the app is open on both sending and receiving devices, and even then unreliably. Lots of potential, but very poor execution. Norwegian should do better.
1 ★Used this app aboard ship to track my teenage girls. I went to call them during late night/ early morning. All I heard was "trying to locate customer". And no connection. This app is horrible. Doesn't work when you need it most!
2 ★High potential but fails to deliver. This app could be very helpful but fails on almost every angle. For those who haven't sailed with Norwegian before, every night you will be given a copy of the Norwegian Daily. This 4+ page paper document has a schedule of all ships activities, listings of restaurant operating hours (they sometimes change), descriptions of the port of call for the day (if applicable) and other helpful things. The entertainment schedule even has a perforation so you can tear it off and neatly fold it for your pocket. This app only works when connected to ships WiFi so no offline mode, and frequently disconnects. Also, every restaurant onboard has there operating hours as "check your Daily". Bottom line, your on a cruise ship to an exotic location. Lock your phone in your room safe and don't open it until you dock at your home port. Use the provided Norwegian Daily for all of your shipboard activity scheduling.
1 ★UPDATE (06/18/2017): 14 months after trying it the first time, it STILL locks at the logo screen. What good were all the supposed app updates over a year and two months if it's still one giant bug of an app? Carnival does a much better job. --------- Great idea, if it worked. Using LG G4 & the app won't go past the logo screen. Even if it worked, it should be available aboard all ships for all Norwegian customers. None of the ships listed ever sail out of our port so it's useless for us & many others. Please fix the bug & the lack of all ships.
1 ★This app is supposedly interactive with information about the ships venues and activities. It never updates and has you refer to the daily printed activity guide for most information. The account info was often WRONG. You can't book shows with it. For $10, it assigns you a phone number for calling and texting while on-board. We were a group a 10 and it's a GREAT idea for keeping in contact while onboard and for which we would have gladly paid, but it rarely worked. Messages weren't delivered, and it couldn't find your contacts on board. Totally useless. We gave up after a day or two and asked for our money back. The staff lamented and admitted the app's many flaws. T-O-T-A-L-L-Y U-S-E-L-E-S-S!!!
1 ★Don't bother using the chat that NCL charge for. Android version continually loses connection and fails to recognize you are connected to the ships wifi. Shame on NCL
1 ★This app is totally unreliable. I can only get it to work 10% of the time. The onboard internet people are no help at all.
