Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★I think the app is great and I've actually improved my productivity quite a bit after using it. One problem I found is that you can easily toggle "Focus Mode" on and off from the notification menu. This seems to bypass the pin or challenge you have setup. I had to get rid of it so it doesnt tempt me as easily to turn it off. I think it would be great to have the Focus Mode be a button you can press at the main screen of the app instead of having to go through menus to enable it
5 ★Limits on the go with the cooldown period is absolutely essential - I've been looking for this for years! With the cooldown period, I can't cheat my way out of specifying 5 minutes for an app, then just reopening a new session. Have to wait. Overall, super easy to set up, and just on day one, I've already saved about an hour of useless phone usage compared to before the app! Grateful it is completely ad free and doesn't ask for unnecessary phone permissions too.
2 ★Persistent problems since the updates. The layout of the data is now cluttered and difficult to read. Furthermore, notifications about screen time limits often pop up hours after they should (e.g., an alert about 3 hours of phone use popping up when the phone has been in use for 4 hours or more). UPDATE: Had to uninstall. It was not counting screen time correctly. I just unlocked my phone after it spent 2 hours in my purse, and got the message that I'd been using the device for 91 minutes.
5 ★Really good app. Solid layout and features, reliable and fast, no ads in the free version. Notifications are highly customizable, and you can remove apps from pentalizing your phone time. The one thing I'd like to see improved is making it simpler to see a breakdown of which apps are being used per hour. I'd like to tap on an hour and be taken to a pie chart or some heat map versus time for each app. Now, you have to look at each app individually to see its hourly breakdown. No biggie though.
4 ★I really like the limits on the go! But it isn't working well. When I'm on Reddit or DuckDuckGo browser, and I'm swapping back and forth between the keyboard and the app, I get the limits on the go prompt every time I swap back to the app. It makes editing really annoying. Also if YouTube goes into small window mode, and then I open it back up, I get stuck in an endless loop where I open YouTube full screen, the popup from StayFree pops up, I make a selection, YouTube goes small screen again...
3 ★I've only been using the app a short time, but I'm already confident that StayFree will be able to help me get my compulsive phone overuse under control. I do have a couple of issues though — under the circumstances, I've opted to have someone else set the PIN so I can set limits, but not change it when time runs out. I'm not sure why I can't turn ON the modes like Night Owl, Pause, & Focus without the PIN? I can understand not being able to turn them off, but I want to turn them on when I want.
4 ★Love the app so far. Pretty easy to use, does what it says it does, and well designed. My only criticism for now is that the pop up ads coule be less invasive and sudden. And I also wish there was a way to set multiple alarms for the same app (I'd like to be able to set an alarm for usage after like two hours, and then be able to have a second that disables the app aftet three hours).
5 ★Love the app overall. I think the feature where focus mode is buried in the settings is a bonus. Taking several steps to modify it can discourage you from just turning it off when you want to "cheat." A couple suggestions: Sleep mode: there needs to be an option to keep your phone accessible. If I'm making a phone call at night, it's because it's an important one. Focus mode: I would love to be able to block different apps at different times.
3 ★Tracks screen time well and breaks it down by app...but has so many intrusive and annoying notifications that happen when I'm listening to a podcast, music, audiobook, etc. that it constantly interrupts what I'm doing and has me on my phone even more than I used to be while I search every place in the app I can trying to figure out how to turn them off. So far, I still haven't figured out how to turn them off. Everytime I find a spot to do so, it doesn't work. 3 stars is generous.
5 ★Incredibly helpful. I was able to leave apps free and available that I want access to like audible, while setting time limits during the day on goggle, FB, etc. Focus time during the night blocks everything, but you can allow what you want like phone and text. This way I am not tempted to browse the internet when I want to be sleeping. I have tried many apps and there is always some issue or glitch. This one, however, perfectly delivers on everything I need.
3 ★It does what it says with no ads! I really like the fact that it works with both apps (and app categories) and websites, as well can do a full block or what I was really looking for - a gentle reminder where you can add 10 minutes to your time. While I would like to be able to customize the time so its maybe a minute to finish reading a post on reddit or 5 minutes to finish a video on youtube, I love the fact that it is there. Edit: Having issues with it taking half my battery.
5 ★Best screentime app I have found. It tracks your time per app. You can blacklist apps so it doesn't track them. I blacklisted maps because I want to track when I'm actually looking at my phone. You can set alarms and notifications for usage time. You can even change the notification label such as "that's enough for today." I have cut my social media time in half. It reminds me that I want to do something else with my time, like reading or drawing.
