2 ★ordered 2 times. food tasted fine, but very high in sodium. beyond that, I would receive 3 meals that would expire in 1 day, which is extremely inconvenient when this is meant to feed you through out the week until your next shipment. Also the packaging itself was par for the course, but whoever was doing the packaging was doing it so that all the ice packs were at the bottom with nothing on top. heat rises, it's basic food safety to put the ice on top to counteract that. overall not worth price
2 ★Not the most intuitive app and ordering platform but you get used to having to navigate through to check on things. Biggest issue is carriers. 2 weeks in a row my box hasn't been delivered. Quick to credit your account for the next week which is nice/normal but credit on the account isn't worth anything if you never receive your shipments. Food is great and love the packaging. Would recommend and keep if they invested in better carriers and app.
5 ★The food is great. Lots of choices. When the boxes arrive I'm often not at home. They stay on my doorstep for 6 hours. And the food inside is still cold when I get it to my fridge. It's packed very carefully. It's delicious. And I feel like I'm eating clean. I'm not on any specific diet. I choose whichever dinners are attractive to me. And they're always delicious. And for lunch I get snacks, smaller things. I find it very satisfying and believe I will actually lose weight without trying.
3 ★It is not always as intuitive as it should be. There are things like rating dishes WITH comments that should be possible. And I think if you are set to purchase a certain number of servings, if you decide to make changes in the app it should automatically ask you which dish you want to change instead of having to add a new dish and remove the old dish. Way too many steps. Otherwise, the app is okay.
2 ★Some of the meals are really quite lovely, and filling, especially for being low enough calorie for my frame - however the prices really are prohibitive. I appreciate quality and freshness, but ~$12 for a microwave meal hurts, and I can't even fathom ~$12 each serving for a cooking package for 2. Looking at the ingredients on the counter, $28 is not being manifested and shipping is not included. Currently the app won't load the portal page for me at all.
3 ★Be careful - it appears that a recent update removed the ability to skip future weeks that have menus. The skip option is still available on future weeks with pending menu options so skip as soon as those weeks pop up on the schedule and then as the menu becomes available and the week draws closer un-skip it if you want the basket delivery that week. I'll update if this bug is fixed.
2 ★The service itself is great. The app is easy to use and a reminder is sent every week to let you choose your meals or skip the week. I really wanted to try this because I love the availability of organic products. However, the recipes were mostly bland and we ended up not eating most of them after we spent the time to cook them. We use to use Hello Fresh, I'd recommend that over Sun Basket.
4 ★when it's time to move, change address or cancel the subscription you can't do it through the app so they keep sending food which you may not want, they continue to charge you and my box of $80 was thrown away! More than once! Also every main dish needs frying which was new for me x 5 years. They've expanded their menu to include prepared food so prep time is cut down, they've also added salads and other non- fry items. But I don't have an hour to prepare food cook and then clean up.
2 ★we have been enjoying sunbasket for several months now. I don't like the fact that I cannot exclude specific meats or items from ever being added to my auto-subscription. I also don't like that there is an auto-subscription at all and I should simply be reminded of weekly calendar and deadlines instead of being forced to get food I don't want or didn't remember to cancel.
1 ★Buggy. Gave up. Click areas either don't work or behave unexpectedly. Automatically adds items. Doesn't let me unselect. No easy way to see details of what's in your cart - too tiny. Can't edit recipe options once it's in your cart. You have to delete the recipe, find it again, and pre-order with your new selection. When you click the arrows under Dinners to scroll through what you've selected, it doesn't do anything. App feels like it's Alpha, not even Beta. Did anyone QA this?
1 ★Can't get anyone from customer service to help. I was out of town and never received an email that my subscription was starting again. When I got the pre-shipment notification I tried to cancel, couldn't get ahold of customer service. Box got delivered and all the food was wasted. Tried to contact them again but still no answer or reply. Really can't afford $100 worth of wasted food right now. Go with a different food delivery service.
3 ★Update- app access has improved significantly with recent updates. Thank you! Love the meal kit program, HATE the app. Every time I open it, the app thinks I'm logged in, but I'm not. Have to click to sign out and sign back in EVERY TIME or the app just freezes. Not well designed for android. Update 5/8/2020- updated the app. Now I'm completely unable to log in, even though my username and password work just fine on the SunBasket web page.
