Yellow cardstock scrap
Decorative paper, 12" x 12" sheets, two
Gold microfine glitter
Satin ribbon, 3/8" x 1/3 yd.
Wooden dowel, 5/8", 3" length
Tools
Pencil

Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
Thick, white craft glue
Optional: Paper trimmer
Instructions
1.Punch two stars from yellow cardstock; glue together with toothpick sandwiched between layers. Apply thin layer of craft glue to each side of star and sprinkle with glitter. Insert toothpick into top of foam cone until glue dries; remove from cone.
2.Trace bottom of cone onto decorative paper; cut out and glue to base of cone. Use scissors to make small hole in center bottom of cone.
3.Paint dowel trunk brown; let dry. Glue trunk 1" deep into hole at center bottom of cone; let dry.
4.Cut 124 paper strips, each 1/2" x 3". Place first strip patterned side down on work surface. Fold strip in half widthwise; unfold. Refer to Fig. 1 to fold paper strip into a "pineapple" point; shaded side represents patterned side of paper. Fold all strips into points.
5.Pin a row of 10 pineapple points around bottom of cone, so tips extend just below foam edge.
6.Pin a second row of 10 points around cone, overlapping first row and offsetting points. Tips of points in second row should rest at top of points in first row.
7.Repeat Step 6 for rows 3�8. Squeeze tips together just slightly as you move up cone so points will fit evenly.
8.Pin a row of nine points around cone for rows 9 and 10, easing points closer together to fit.
9.Pin eight points around cone for row 11 and six points for row 12. For rows 13 and 14, use five or six points depending on available space.
10.Trim edges of pineapple points even around top of cone, if needed. Cut small circle from paper and glue to top of cone.
11.Cut and glue a 1/4"-wide paper strip around top edge of top row of points for neat appearance. Make tiny slits in paper edges so paper lies flat.
12.Glue a �� strip of paper around the top edge to make it look neat. You will need to make tiny clips along the edge so that the paper lies flat.
13.Knot ribbon ends for hanger. Poke tiny hole in top of cone; glue knot into hole. Glue star toothpick into top of cone, in front of hanger.
