Description
Kinder is a super simple name choosing app. Through Kinder you can quickly swipe name suggestions you like to the right and dismiss the ones you don’t like.You get one name set for free based on your location and if you want you can easily buy additional name sets for a small fee. Purchased name sets will also be available for your partner.
You can connect to your partner to find matches.
Kinder has over 18.000 names in the library with a grand variety in origins so you can find that unique name that your child will write history with!

Why are extra name sets not free?
Of course it would be great if you could have them all for free, but unfortunately it’s not a sustainable way to keep the app in the Play Store. You get one set for free and additional name sets are available for a small fee. Hopefully you understand.
I can’t connect to my partner, please help!
If you can’t connect it might be that the connection code is expired. Please try to invite each other once more. If that doesn’t help it might be your time settings; those must be set to automatic, otherwise the connection mechanism can’t connect you unfortunately.
I don’t see our matches?
We try to update matches every 30 seconds. So please bear with us! If after that time you still don’t see them, please try to restart the app.
If I purchase a name set, will my partner also get these? Yes! It might not show up in a split second, but if you’re connected purchases will be shared.
I bought a new phone, what will happen with my Kinder likes?
We are very sorry, unfortunately we don’t have a feature to save your likes, dismisses and matches just yet. We are working on a solution to save these though.
Who runs Kinder?
Kinder is app started by me; Krijn Haasnoot. I’m a Dutch guy who had an idea after having dinner with a couple of friends years ago. They were having their first child and my question was: ‘How do you find a name?’. Their answer was: ‘Probably some books, the internet, family’. I immediately thought, ‘that can be more fun’ and I came up with the idea of using an intuitive swipe like selection mechanism used by another app, but than with baby names! And it should be able to match likes between partners!’
I don’t think Kinder is the end solution to choose the name for your child, I just hope to inspire, get the discussion going in a positive way and help out! Having a baby is a fun, sacred, but also tiring and possibly stressful time. Let’s take a small thing out and make it nicer.
As you can read, Kinder is just a small one-man company.

4 ★Great app with tons of names! Was very helpful in establishing a list of names my partner and I both liked. I did miss a search tool or something, or an alphabetical sorting of the names... Trying to find a name I rejected in the huge list is almost impossible... Other than that, great job 😉
1 ★Poorly designed app. Requires both partners to each pay for packs. The packs aren't the same between Android and IOS so you don't have accurate crossover of names between iPhone and Samsung. Even though you can supposedly preference to only see boy or girl names the packs are riddled with mistakes (layla, Jessica, Samantha =examples of names that come up as for boys...). Waste of money
5 ★Peacefully Agreeing We had a lot of "no's" until we used this app. Now we have 9 yes's on our name list! The app hid all our no's and only let us know what we agree on, making the hunt for a name a much more positive experience. Two changes would improve the app for me: 1) make it so we can add other names we think of later or add names we decided are ok so we don't have to sort back through everything. 2) either alphabetize names or make a status bar to tell how close/far to the end of the list.
3 ★My husband and I had some fun with this app. Unfortunately when you pay for a pack, or all the packs, your linked partner does not have access to see those same name options. But, if you swipe right on a name from a new pack, it will show up on your partner's list as an option. So just be aware of that!
3 ★Good idea but... Not even close to enough names. Lots of repeats. Swiping for about 15 minutes and ive gone through all the names. This is a great idea but poorly executed. Please add more names. *added since reply* the additional name sets are only for different languages. Nobody is interested in that. Add more regular English names.
1 ★There are SO many bugs with this app. If you have All Languages selected, the app just keeps restarting. Then you have to uninstall the app which doesn't save any names you have already gone through. Gave this app a few chances as I like the matching feature but it's too buggy.
2 ★Great breadth of names, and filtering of theme/origin works well. No issues matching with partner either. But the swiping is uneconomical (too large an action) for it to be easy, the buttons down the bottom don't work either. It would also be good to be able to sort the lists of liked/disliked names, at least alphabetically.
3 ★I like the idea of this app but it could be better. For instance if you could enter names you've already considered. Also, I would like it more if it would populate names that are similar style/feel/popularity to either names you enter or names that you've selected as yeses. The back button doesn't work Love that there are no ads!
4 ★Very good, but I'd like the following changes: duplicate names, even across languages (I still get duplicates, probably because they're duplicates for different lists) should be avoided. It should also be optional to put in last name.
1 ★Can't connect with my partner. Uninstalled which meant I lost all the names I had already saved, reinstalled and still couldn't connect with my partner. He sent a link and a code, still nothing. Emailed the app email about 2 weeks ago to resolve the issue and got no response. Waste of time.
2 ★Great idea, but name syncing doesnt work properly. get notification for matches, but dont appear on my app. do appear on my wife's app. also, appear to be many esoteric names, but many more common names are missing. end up swiping left all the time for nothing.
3 ★You get to pick which language/country to filter names on but then it doesnt tell you which one the name was associated with. Also would be nice to be able to alphabetize the results for quicker sorting. Basic app that does what it says it does.
