Description

TravelBug is a a nice road trip travel companion. One easy place for local history, rest areas, national parks, national historical markers, interesting places to visit, gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. Easily swipe between map, local history, historical markers and Atlas Obscura tabs based on your current location.

Tap anywhere on the map or use the microphone button to learn more about the town there: it's local history from Wikipedia, local restaurants from Yelp, interesting sites from Atlas Obscura, gas stations, Panera Bread locations and grocery stores from Google.

Tap rest areas for descriptions and distances (use directions button for specific directions). Tap National Park icons for distances, directions, and more information.

The blue button allows you to say a highway name and direction -- like "95 South" -- and TravelBug will tell you about the next rest stops along your way.

Now with smart watch capability -- you can speak to TravelBug's watch notification to hear the next rest stops along your way!

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

3 ★Unable to move the map, in order to pre-plan trips. Only shows items at your current location.
4 ★I stumbled across this app somehow and I'm glad I did. Great information for traveling especially with the Atlas Obscura addition. 5 starts when a little more polish happens and the settings button starts working.
1 ★Literally unusable. Opening the app just pushes open an Atlas Obscura page on chrome. No matter how I try to view the actual app, it just opens an additional copy of the same web page and jumps to chrome. Can't stay in the actual app for more than a second to tell you what features it has or how it works. Might as well just go to the atlasobscura page on my own because that's all this app does.
