5 ★Great app for the professional and casual astronomer alike! I just have a simple Celestron Travelscope, and this app helps me point it to what I want to see, and allows me to know what I'm looking at. Even if you don't have a telescope, it's still a fun app to play with!
3 ★Using with the Nexstar Evolution and Galaxie S10e. If the screen of the phone sleeps, the app must be forced quit and scope power cycled to reconnect. Also if you switch to another app while connected, you have about 30 seconds to make it back into the app or you will need to force quit and power cycle the scope. All this while the app is not optimized for battery, allowed to run in background without restriction, and all power saving functions are disabled to the extent possible. Otherwise nice
4 ★This one of the good sky map application with lots of options and good visual, it even have user friendly interface, easily understandable by people new to Astronomy as a hobby, it is a go to app for many people in Astronomy. It would be nice if the screen share option is given without taking the screenshot manually. A option to share the current screen by just one click from the app directly would be really great!!
4 ★This app help how where is planets but there is the problem there isn't camera.
4 ★Good app. It can also be connected to a telescope. Opening for the first time it gives all necessary informations and you can find and view all celestial objects like stars,planets,galaxy,comets etc. It even tells the special things available to observe in the night sky.It also shows the past and future sky conditions.
4 ★Very good. It seems to replace the old little machine(SkyScout) also by Celestron. It does lack a way of selecting or changing the type of Mount Azimuthal/Equatorial. It would also be nice to be able to have more options when selecting the landscape and projection types. The horizon always curves Convex/Concave which is annoying. The perspective view will eliminate this definitely.
5 ★Great app! It was easy to use, had lots of content, and it even helped me find two messier objects in a relatively short time in a sky brightly lit by light pollution. Not bad, considering that I'm an ametur that has just started out.
2 ★can be temperamental with connection, staying connected and app freezes often. Decent enough app as a stand alone but when using connected to telescope it helps to have fingers crossed. it also is poor at alignment telling me the telescope is facing wrong way when it is not. Have not successfully aligned the app with the telescope.
5 ★Best App Ever for beginners. You need a strong wifi + consistent power (don't use batteries) and this app takes care of the rest. This app make it easy to align + easy to find objects and works really well with wifi module. My very first stargazing session was successful. Thanks to the developers and Celestron.
5 ★Started to give no stars but changed my mind. Tried my current cell phone and tablet and neither would work with Skyportal. Had extra ZTE phone and tried it and works flawlessly on Skyportal. Happy I have it to use. Now to find flawless tablet that will work.
1 ★Cannot align, no matter how hard I try, I've been trying for days but it constantly fails on second star alignment, maybe I'm doing something wrong but after a couple hours a night just trying to align I've given up.
1 ★They're is no way to search or go back in help. If you want to configure your skyportal module to not do direct connect you can not because there is no way to get a keyboard to type. If you go away from the app to copy and past the info in it wipes everything you have put in when you leave the app so you can not put in the network and password info. You also can not copy both together and cut them when pasted.
