Description
The National Park Service and National Park Foundation invites you to use this app for a virtual visit of four national parks: Independence, Great Falls, Mount Rainier, and Alcatraz Island. Use this park virtual visit app as an onsite addition to your tour, or as an offsite visit to your favorite park.From the home screen, select your desired mode (Handheld or Cardboard). From the park selection screen, select your desired park to visit.
For a true virtual reality experience, you will need a 3D viewing device, like Google Cardboard. If you don’t have one, you can still visit the parks with Handheld mode. While visiting a park, the bottom righthand corner of the app provides view toggle between touchscreen, gyroscope, or 3D viewing mode.
The yellow arrows allow you to navigate from one area of a park to the next. Select the signs throughout the parks for information on specific points of interest. Select the back button to go back to the park selection screen, or the home button to go to the home screen.
