Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Well put together media news app, and the deal was the clincher for me to try it out. I'll have to get rid of it around my birthday since I can't afford the price that'll go up significantly more than the introductory price. I'll probably try WAPO or something else similar. I've liked reading the Wall Street Journal as a kid even so I'll probably try it out eventually too. Really nice to read such well put together articles and op-eds etc intelligent reading too.
3 ★Just a warning for everyone who wants to subscribe to the LA Times.. when you want to cancel your subscription, it's such a pain in the ass. You can't do it online. they don't respond to emails and customer service is the worst. It took 2 weeks for me to break through. There's nothing with the app (at least for me) and I enjoy reading their articles.
1 ★Installed this a few days ago. Read a few articles and then get blocked with the message that I've used up my free articles! I am a paying subscriber specifically for online access so I thought I just need to log in. I logged in from the app, went back to my article - still same message - can't read because I'm out of free articles. Looked at my account settings and yep - shows I'm a paying subscriber. WTH?? UNINSTALLED - your app is USELESS
1 ★Dismal handling of notifications. Most of the time I click, wait 30 seconds, when the app comes up, it incorrectly says I'm not a subscriber and kicks me to the front page. But when I check, it shows I'm signed in and subscribed.
3 ★Basic news app style, good enough. Better search than the NYT app. One annoying thing: clicking a link in an article that is for a different LA Times article opens the new one in a web browser rather than in the app.
2 ★This app is an inferior newspaper app that doesn't allow downloading of all or at least most of the newspaper for offline viewing. The android app for the New York Times allows such. Also, the android apps for the Sacramento Bee and the Fresno Bee. If the LA Times is working to achieve this for its app, it shouldn't waste time. Do it now!
1 ★cancelling my subscription if you don't address the problems with the photos loading and with that 'tour the features' pop-up every time i go back. these have been known issues for weeks with no fix and no communication with subscribers.
1 ★They lie to you. They tell you how easy it is to manage your account. To cancel your account and keep from being billed you have to call, you have to navigate several menus, then wait and wait, you have to listen to scripted sales pitches from people who barely understand the English you're speaking to them and ignore everything you say. I have subscribed from time to time and every time it is such a hassle to cancel that I never will again. DON'T DO IT
3 ★the app is okay. for some reason I can't pull up the LA Times COVID Tracker. also, for some reason the app sends me an alert every time a +90 year old actor dies. I don't care at all, and if I get one more, I'm deleting the app and cancelling my subscription
2 ★Not really set up so you can read it like a daily newspaper. Old and new articles are mixed together, which is fine for a quick glance, but who is going to pay their outrageous subscription fee, if they don't intend to read it daily. Cf The Guardian app. Much better structure
2 ★The app used to be better. You can't highlight small articles (like obituaries) anymore. Suddenly the ability to print or share articles is gone too. Waiting for a response from LA Times.
3 ★The "new" design is a visual nightmare. Subheads larger than headlines, wonky line spacing, tiny images. This makes you guys look really bad and is an easy fix. Please address!
