하지만, 대부분의 시니어분들은 이렇게 원인도 모른채, 아무도 내 마음을 몰라~, 갑자기 쓸모가 없어진 것 같아~ 등 이런 감정에만 포커싱이 되어, 과거에 해 왔던, 자신이 너무 잘 알고 있는 경제 활동으로 자신을 인정 받으려하고, 더 집착하게 되는 것을 보며 안타까움을 느꼈습니다.
물론 경제 활동이 중요하지 않다는 것이 아닙니다. 너무 중요하죠. 하지만 지금까지 이 방법으로는 지금의 감정이 해소 되지않아, 지금의 감정이 생기는 것인데.. 누구나 이 나이가 되면 그런거라고 치부해 버린다는 것이죠.. 정작 자신이 지금 무엇이 필요한지 모른채로요.
그리고 더욱 큰 문제는 그 원인을 인지하고 적극적으로 해결해 보려고, 요사이 제공되고 있는 자아 찾기 프로그램을 참여한 분들도, 이 감정의 근본 원인보다는, 현실을 고려한 일자리와 연계하여, “ 나 사용 설명서”의 형태로 트랜드에 맞춰진 또 다른 “ 자기 소개서”가 되어있는 경우가 많다는 것입니다.
그러다 보니, 근본적 원인을 찾기도 힘들고, 낯선 주제만큼이나 경험 부족으로 거부감이 생기는 부작용을 경험한 예비 시니어들이 대부분이었습니다.
그래서 저는 “자아 찾기”라는 거창하고 어려운 제목이 아닌 내가 가장 잘 알고 있고, 그래서 누구보다 잘 표현 할 수 있는 소소한 나의 일상을 들여다 보며, 표현한 그림으로 스스로 치유 받고, 주변인을 이해 하는데, 많은 도움을 받아던 컬러 테라피와 심리 미술, 미술 교육의 노하우를 응집해 시니어 분들의 즐거운 취미활동이 자연스런 치유로 연결되어 다양성과 자존감을 인정받는 “그림책 만들기” 프로그램”을 만들었습니다.
