Entre la Axarquía malagueña y el Poniente granadino se ubica el Polje de Zafarraya, el más extenso de la Península Ibérica. Con esta guía podremos visitar el rico entorno natural de este Polje y las calles, restaurantes, negocios, equipamientos… del núcleo de población principal: Zafarraya.Este municipio granadino está enmarcado en un entorno precioso y a poca distancia de parajes naturales únicos: a los pies del Parque Natural de Sierra Tejeda, a 30 kms. del Mediterráneo y en el nacimiento de la Sierra de Loja, un macizo kárstico impresionante, plagado de veredas y carriles para practicar senderismo, rutas a caballo o en mountanbike y un destino privilegiado para los amantes de la espeleología.
En el Llano de Zafarraya los visitantes podrán disfrutar de uno de los puntos agrícolas más importantes de Andalucía, con una campaña veraniega basada en el cultivo de hortalizas al aire libre. En los bordes de este Llano aparecen unas formaciones kársticas únicas, los Sumideros, desagües naturales de las aguas que inundan el Llano en época de lluvias.
El visitante podrá vivir intensamente nuestras fiestas tradicionales, como San Marcos, la Candelaría, San José o el Día de la Cruz; actividades culturales como el Ciclo de Teatro Aficionado; festivales de música veraniegos como ZafarrayaSound o Zafarrajazz Soul & Funk o eventos como la Feria Ganadera de Zafarraya.
El callejero permitirá a los visitantes localizar lugares de interés, como la Iglesia Vieja; disfrutar del senderismo en Veredas Blancas o la subida a La Torca, Las Lagunetas o al Hoyo del Toro; degustar nuestra gastronomía, como choto, migas o morrete de setas, en bares y restaurantes o pernoctan en los alojamientos de Zafarraya. Nuestro entorno dispone de miradores naturales en El Almendral, Las Parideras o La Umbría para que el visitante disfrute de unas vistas que sin duda le sorprenderán y contemple la armonía entre una naturaleza rica en encinas, pinos, cornicabras, lentiscos, romeros, aladiernos, tomillos, etc. y una actividad agrícola potente y base de nuestra economía.
